I am challenged eating out as I have a dairy allergy and am used to settling on my order (salad again...) but lo and behold- I found a dish that was 110% delicious and didn't need any tweaking. The miso glazed salmon is a winner!!! Giant kudos to the chef for understanding the challenges of food allergy sufferers...I finally felt like I wasn't at the "kids table." BRAVO! I will be back!
We went in a while back, but I had an absolutely amazing time at Cafe 123. From the moment I walked in, the vibe was welcoming, relaxed, and just the right amount of classy. Everything from the lighting to the music made it feel like the perfect spot for a night out. It truly is a hidden gem in downtown Opelika.
My server, Kendyl, was fantastic! She was friendly, attentive, and had great suggestions along with knowledge of the specials. The staff overall really made me feel taken care of.
The food was nothing short of incredible . We started with the mussels and shrimp cocktail. The mussels came in flavorful and savory sauce and the cocktail sauce was delicious. For the main course, we had the fresh catch and ribeye (with brown sugar rub 🤤). It completely hit the spot. You can’t go wrong with a steak here! We had espresso martinis to finish off an amazing meal, and they were PERFECT!
Huge compliments to chef Eron and company for putting together such a well-thought-out and delicious menu. Every dish exceeded expectations! Thank you to the manager, Hannah, for checking in on us and making sure we were settled in well 😄
All in all, this place nailed it… great food, great people, and an easygoing yet polished atmosphere. Can’t wait to come back and try more!
My 1st time visiting was June 19 2025 and at 1st I was scared to go in but was the best food I have had in a long time and my waitress was beautiful and sweet as apple pie the bar lady was nice and the other workers was nice too everything we ate made us say mmmmmmm with every sip and bite 10 out of 10
Wow just wow was totally blown away by this place. Zack & Jake were our servers and did a great job taking care of us.We started with the Crab stuffed avocado unbelievable. I had the cobia and was blown away. We live in Florida and the cobia was the best I have ever had. My wife had the pork chop and she really enjoyed it. We finished with the bananas foster made table side and it was perfect. We just returned from Europe and were missing the great restaurants that Europe has to offer. I would put Cafe 123 as one of the best places we have had the pleasure to dine. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
The food was phenomenal. I had the seasonal salad, bread service, the beer battered asparagus, and the scallop crudo. All excellent. The staff had their hands full attending to eight tables plus me at the bar, so not a lot of time for chitchat, which is understandable. That said, everyone was highly professional, friendly, and intentional. You can tell they take pride in what they do. And the Cafe 123 finale (on their cocktail menu) was an absolute show stopper! Can’t wait to come back for brunch (:
We love going to Cafe 123 everything is always spot on!The staff is always lovely and attentive. The food my gosh, what’s not to love here! The ahi tuna that I had was spot on and my husbands steak was delicious . Can’t forget the appetizer’s the mussels and that sauce so good . We appreciate all the hard work y’all put in! Thank you for giving downtown Opelika such a lovely place to dine.
Wow is all I can say. This place is a 10/10 across the board. Our server hannah was super professional yet personable and warm. I genuinely think she knew me better than i knew myself with her drink and wine recommendations. The food was off the chain. We ordered the table Caesar salad, table bread, the filet and the salmon. Everything was incredible. The Caesar is must, it is truly the best I’ve ever had. Salmon and steak were prepared to perfection. Best food and restaurant experience that I’ve had in the 4 years I’ve lived in the area. I don’t know his this place isn’t talked about more as I’m genuinely blown away.
Nice place. First time going. We went for Sunday brunch. Shrimp and Grits were great. Not exactly typical Cajun Shrimp and Grits but delightful just the same. Pimento cheese adds a unique flare to the Grits, not overly pimento-y. Our server was very accommodating and friendly.

**I'm editing my review as I respect and appreciate the business responding in a respectful and educational way! Making sure guests get the attention they deserve is admirable. I do suggest making this known on the website. We would've stayed for a drink if we were told that food service wasn't possible at the bar or we felt at all welcomed. Just not a great impression to be honest.**
Tried to sit at their bar with my husband at 5:26 on a Thursday. We were told they weren't seating people at the bar and to come back at 7. So confused as to what on earth that meant. No mention of reservation only including bar on the website. There was one couple already at the bar and the rest of the seats were empty. Maybe they just didn't want to feed us? If I ever decide to attempt to eat there again I'll update my review with the food in mind. 🤷♀️
We were fortunate enough to score a table for their Wine Dinner, which was a 5 course meal with each plate having a unique wine pairing. It was a night we will never forget! The first course was White Gumbo, and we knew from the first bite that we were in for a phenomenal meal. The second course was a beautifully prepared Tonkatsu which was so incredibly tender it could be cut without a knife. Third came a Steak Tartare laying on a bed of potato pavé (which took over 14 hours to create!) and is the standard on which we will measure any future steak tartares. The fourth course was a succulent Lobster Thermidore that just melted in your mouth. The final course was an exquisitely prepared buttermilk Biscuit and Honey, flaky and tender with a homemade toffee and topped with fresh strawberries. It was an amazing end to an absolutely stunning meal. Overall, we could not have been pleased any more than we were. We cannot recommend this restaurant enough!

This is my favorite place in Auburn-Opelika area. Food is consistently great. Service is incredible as the staff is very experienced and friendly. I love the filet (medium-rare)!

My husband and I took our daughter, along with her friends and my parents, to Cafe 123 to celebrate her 18th Birthday. And it was FABULOUS!
As soon as we walked in, the atmosphere had a very sophisticated vibe and our Waiter and Waitress were on-point with their hospitality as well as their vast knowledge of the menu selections and recommendations. Next, the food was a CULINARY DELIGHT IN EVERY BITE!!!! It was apparent that the Chef put their heart and soul into every dish as you could taste the quality, freshness, and time in every morsel of food....and they did not skimp on the portions either..LOL! If you want fine dining in a terrific atmosphere, take your taste buds on a gastronomical experience to remember at Cafe 123. :)
