This is by far the best bbq in Alabama. The quality and pricing has been so wildly consistent over the last 20 years or so that I've eaten here. The value is unmatched. The Sandwich plate that comes with two sides is less than 9$. The best sandwich is the Pork Chipped on the Block and I ask for mine to be inside meat. Its absolutely lights out and crazy how good it is everytime.

I really wish I had ordered more, but it was a quick stop on my way to ATL. Old school BBQ joint, it was busy on an early Saturday afternoon. As busy as it was when I arrived, that was the lull before the rest of the area came looking for their smoked meats. I settled on the Saturday special which was 2 chopped pork of chicken sandwiches. I also ordered a peanut butter pie cause hell yeah! The sandwich was smokey and slightly sweet/spicy. I would get extra pickles next time, and the coleslaw was odd to me. It wasn't *normal southern style I can tell you that. Saved a sandwich for later but the pie barely lasted until my sandwiches were ready. The ribs looked so good too, next time.

Really wanted to have a mind blowing review, the pork sandwich was moist but not real smoked/grilled flavor. The ribs were tiny, dry and again no smoked/grilled bbq flavor. Baked beans were ok no crazy add-ins like onions or seasoning. Now the coleslaw was delicious, minced, moist and very good. What I can say is the potato salad was off the chain. It was POTATOES not tons of add-ins eithe. Just genuine delicious potato salad, they were chucks of well cooked potatoes and very creamy. the staff was super kind and helpful, I hate that I cant give a better review and I drove a LONG way to try them out. Pricing is not bad and the sweet tea is perfect.

Chuck's BBQ is a staple in Opelika. They opened in 1976, and still going strong. If you are going for lunch, go early. As the lines get very long. Some of the best stew around, bbq slaw to the wonderful chipped sandwiches. Highly recommend!

We we're looking for a place to eat and ran across Chuck's and so glad we did this was the best barbecue that we have ever had and we will be driving back just to eat here not to mention the price for three people to eat was not so expensive everything about it was great if you're looking for good barbecue go to Chuck's You will be glad you did

Have been enjoying Chucks for many years. One of my favorite Barbecue sandwiches.
Service and atmosphere is excellent the food is almost inedible. I ordered and received a shredded pork plate with ribs, potato salad, and Brunswick stew. The pork comes already sauced and tasted exactly like the bbq sandwiches you get at a gas station. Absolutely horrendous and in my opinion it is not bbq at all. The ribs were actually decent about equal to what you could get at a 20 year Olds backyard bbq, but not necessarily bad. The Brunswick stew is ground and taste kind of bland it doesn't have the slightly sweet and savory flavor that is characteristic of good Brunswick stew. The potato salad tastes like it is the walmart brand sweet Amish variety. Definitely nothing I ever want to try again. This place really needs to try something different with their food 😵💫

I had their famous chipped sandwich and sweet tea. I say it was pretty good. The tea could have been little sweeter, but then I again I like it pretty sweet. I will have to try some other stuff next time.Try them out, the staff was friendly and nice also.
