The other day I stopped by because they were open early, ordered a chipped bbq sandwich, and instantly fell in love. It was the BEST chipped barbecue sandwich I’ve had in years! I was so mad at myself for only ordering one. I used to drive past this place all the time without stopping, and I’m so glad I finally gave them a try. The customer service was great too, which is always a big plus for me.
This is by far the best bbq in Alabama. The quality and pricing has been so wildly consistent over the last 20 years or so that I've eaten here. The value is unmatched. The Sandwich plate that comes with two sides is less than 9$. The best sandwich is the Pork Chipped on the Block and I ask for mine to be inside meat. Its absolutely lights out and crazy how good it is everytime.
I really wish I had ordered more, but it was a quick stop on my way to ATL. Old school BBQ joint, it was busy on an early Saturday afternoon. As busy as it was when I arrived, that was the lull before the rest of the area came looking for their smoked meats. I settled on the Saturday special which was 2 chopped pork of chicken sandwiches. I also ordered a peanut butter pie cause hell yeah! The sandwich was smokey and slightly sweet/spicy. I would get extra pickles next...
