Have eaten at IBP a few times before. It is a great restaurant in an old building with plenty of character.

Just a heads up, though, if you’re wanting to eat corned beef and cabbage on St. Patrick’s Day there, you better get there early when they open, or else you will start having wait times exceeding an hour or more.

For an appetizer, we had the corned beef cabbage eggrolls, and they were awesome. Came with 1000 island dressing to dip them in.

My mom had a shepards pie and she said it was very tasteful, but had more mashed potatoes on top than any of the filling at the bottom. She was slightly disappointed in this.

I had the bangers and mash. The sausage was cooked well and the mashed potatoes were fluffy and had plenty of gravy and I even asked for extra gravy. Everything was very flavorful.

I would definitely recommend this restaurant

This place is beyond awesome. Has a really cool atmosphere and ambience. Total antiquity vibes. Also has good energy and upbeat.
It's really cool to be able to look off the balcony and see what has become of the old part of Opelika. I really like this place. The shepherd's pie will make you scream (it's that good).

Arrived at 9:30 on Friday night to eat and were told that the kitchen closed early (supposed to be open until 10:00). We tried the next day for lunch at 1:00pm, but with 75% of the tables empty we were told it would be a 25 minute wait. Clearly the management needs some work.

It was a quiet afternoon visit and we were greeted with enthusiasm and energy by the bartender, Chad. We had a great rapport with Chad and when we asked about the food, you could tell he is a fan of the pub's offerings. He even showed us his own picture of the special of the day. We ordered the special which was blackened shrimp on a plate of grits, peppers and broccoli. I can normally only eat cheese grits, but these were so light and fluffy and tasted amazing that I could eat then alone. The food was great, Chad kept us entertained and the drinks flowing.

The place is in the historic part of town and is well worth the visit, I bet it's hopping in the evenings.

Would I go again, ya betcha.

Some dishes were great and others fell a little flat. Servings are generous and prices were good.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at the Irish Bred Pub in Opelika! From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us with warm smiles and made us feel right at home. They were not only friendly but also attentive throughout our visit, which made the whole evening even more enjoyable.

The food was fantastic, every bite was flavorful, fresh, and cooked to perfection. It’s rare to find a place where both the atmosphere and the menu deliver such a great experience, but the Irish Bred Pub does exactly that.

If you’re in Opelika and looking for delicious food paired with top-notch hospitality, this spot is a must. We’ll definitely be back!

I’m not sure where else you can eat like this for lunch for less than $15. Pork chops, broccoli and potatoes were fantastic! Will be back for sure. 👍

Not what I'm used to for an Irish pub. The fish & chips we were told it was catfish. I'm used to it being Cod. I will pass on going back

Our experience at The Irish Bread Pub was truly exceptional—definitely a solid five stars all around! From the moment we arrived, Jenny, our waitress, stood out with her genuine warmth and deep knowledge of the menu. She offered thoughtful recommendations that perfectly suited our tastes and went above and beyond to ensure our evening was a great experience. Jenny’s attentive and friendly service truly elevated the entire dining experience. The atmosphere at the pub is cozy and inviting. Without a doubt, this has become my favorite restaurant in Opelika so far, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit!
