Half Shell Oyster House Pelham If I could give zero stars I would. We had a party of nine for lunch on June, 17th, 2025. The front desk was not accommodating, making us wait. The restaurant was basically empty. We were finally seated, and waited about 15 minutes for a server to come take drink orders. After that, it took about 20 minutes for her to come back with maybe half of them…after another 10 minutes, the other drinks were served. About 20 minutes later the server came back to take food orders. Salads came out maybe 30 minutes later, Seriously we waited ANOTHER 45 MINUTES for our food to come out! I ordered shrimp and crab Augratin….no way in heck was this dish even close…it was two scoops of something on an oval plate that was cold. And Awful. I would have sent it back, but at that point we were all ready to get out of there. I will NEVER recommend or go back there again. I tipped 20% because the server was new, so I gave her the benefit of the doubt. Do not waste your money.

When visiting family on the holidays, I always drive by this restaurant and it’s been calling my name for years!
Lucky for me, my dad was ready to try something new so we stopped by for lunch.

This establishment is large and open, it felt like I was back in New Orleans with its decor of iron fences, and lots of dark red brick.

We started with an appetizer of oysters on the half shell which were so fresh and some of the best oysters I’ve had in a while (I live in Florida on the Atlantic and know fresh oyster)

Next, we tried the soup. We had a cup of gumbo and a cup of the corn and Seafood bisque. We inhale them! They both held such flavor and were filled with ingredients. Some of the better soups I’ve had at any Seafood restaurant.

We also shared some of the fried oysters which were battered and fried to perfection. Very tasty.

The service was accommodating, helpful, and we were never left to need.

A perfect visit with a perfect menu. Go try half shell oyster House in Pelham if you haven’t.

I really enjoyed my meal. I had some boiled shrimp and raw oyster. It was delicious and the price tag wasn't too bad considering. I'll def go back.

Beautiful and unique place, the oysters were delicious. First round took quite a minute to come out but the second round came within 7-10 minutes of being ordered. We will absolutely be coming back with friends!!

This place was amazing a year ago; now, it is simply not good at all. The food has become substandard, the service appears to be laborious, and the servers appear to be very unhappy in their line of work.

It’s too bad this restaurant is failing as it has an amazing potential to succeed. Unfortunately, the direction it’s headed will end in another restaurant failure.
