Our visits and terrible experience on 3/14/2025, from both the staff at Waffle House on Pelham Parkway next to Old Time Pottery and IHOP at 2000 Pelham Parkway. 0 out of 5 (No Stars) would be my rating for both... Oddly enough, we only went to IHOP after the poor to no customer service we received from the staff at the Waffle House. There was no greeting when we entered, and there was no indication of service. So, we departed after a few minutes of waiting to be acknowledged. Upon leaving, we decided to visit IHOP. The sign posted on the door of IHOP indicated that the restaurant closed at 10 p.m., and we arrived at around 9:45 p.m. Due to our late arrival, we decided to place a to go order. Upon entering, there was no one standing at the front counter/host stand, but there were about 4-5 gentlemen standing and talking in the opening to the kitchen with their backs turned towards us. Once they turned around and saw us, no acknowledgment of our presence was provided. Collectively, we decided to leave this one because of the poor to no customer service received. As we exited the building, a woman immediately closed and locked the door. So we won't be going back to either of these locations anytime soon. It just wasn't our night to have breakfast for dinner.

Our cook, Daryl, was absolutely the best! I know he normally is the cook, but tonight he acted as both cook and server for us tonight since the next crew were obviously over 30 minutes late to their shift. I know at the end of a long work day I personally have a hard time mustering up a smile, but Daryl gave us his full attention while acting as server and cook and he made everything exactly as ordered. I hope management knows in Daryl they have a great employee. Whoever came in after him could have thanked him for covering while they were late, but instead fussed out loud in front of us and other customers because their cook was later than her.

Building locked at 1251 am. Says 24hrs. Women sitting at side counter didn't bother to look our way or say why your establishment would be closed. Someone outside smoking just so happen to walk in and start spreading the grill hoods.

Inexpensive and okay. Average plain hashbrowns, eggs were cooked alright and tasted fine. Hash rowns and toast were exactly as expected: average. Really avg service also.
Dietary restrictions: Probably has keto and diabetic options.
Kid-friendliness: There is jukebox type option. Kid meals also.
Wheelchair accessibility: This doesn’t seem that accessible. You may have trouble getting in door.

Today me and my family went to this Waffle House at 12pm and there was tables open but they wouldn’t clean them we were waiting like 30mins for them to clean one and they wouldn’t so we went up to the table and waited there to see if they would notice us then the lady walked by and told us to go sit back down and that it would be a while even though she could of cleaned it this was really bad service.

Giving a 1 start because the moment we walked in, the staff told us they are only doing to-go orders. Didn’t even bother to explain why. Terrible attitude the second my partner and myself walked in. Has not been the first time either. Never done a review so at this point it was time to give my opinion. Server had her headphones in and the cook just sat at the booth like nothing matter to them.

Was in the area, stopped to eat, and we just left here. Food was good, Service was great, Della was our waitress, I made sure to read her name tag. The one and only reason I took off a star was because of how the cook (longish dark hair, probably early 20's) treated and talked to Della. She called out "order" because he wasn't out there, and we heard him holler back at her "shut up". There were several other instances where we heard him either cuss her or disrespect her. Bless Della's heart...she remained professional and polite through out the whole thing. This cook needs to be fired and Della needs a raise and a bonus for having to deal with this jerk.
