I passed thru Phenix City on my way to PCB and on my way back home I decided to stop in and try some food. I'm glad I did. I'm thinking if I ever act on my food tour - think Triple D & Guy Fieri - then I'm going to sit and try a few things. You know what surprised me? The sauce! I was expecting some kind of thick, smoky, garnet-red BBQ sauce, but what I got was a yellow, spicy & smoky sauce - think mustard with less tang. It's good! They had the pickles and diced onions on it, and it made me think of a chili dog. I had to look at it again just to be sure. LOL. Y'all! Don't pass by Hog Rock BBQ. Stop by, walk in, order, and sit and eat. Oh! And if you like sweet tea, then that's the only drink for this food besides water of course.
I heard from a local that the salads are really good. Guess I'll see y'all later for one of those too ?

The chopped pork sandwich with slaw and pickle was terrible! Pork was tough. Brunswick stew was awful! Lady taking orders was rude and acted like she didn’t want to be there. Terrible experience. Stop there on our way home from Florida. Mistake!! Terrible bar b q

Got the 5 for 7.00 bbq sandwiches and it looked like they scraped the pieces off the counter instead of throwing them in the trash bc it was HUGE chunks of meat inside a chipped sandwiches. NASTY

My husband showed up at 7:43 eastern time to get some food and the doors were locked. Signs on the door and on the building say closes at 8. The workers inside looked at my husband and turned around and didn’t even acknowledge him at all. This is unfortunately the second time this has happened and last time it was just after 7:30. I would suggest they update their closing time on their signs or stay open until the hours advertise. Sucks because we love their food but definitely go during mid day to get friendly service and unlocked doors.

They have the best chicken tenders an the staff are amazing
I paid 26.31 plus 5 dollar tip for a chopped plate and 2 sides and 12 wings.some workers were on the rude side and some not.Food was great and was told to pay 54 cents for pickles.To top it off the flies seem to want my food more than me but just can't get over the charge for pickles with my BBQ. Little things make a difference so I highly recommend Smokems BBQ by home depot.

This has quickly become my favorite BBQ place in the area. The pork is great and their hot sauce is perfect on it. The baked beans and brunswick stew are also really good. It's just good food for a good price, and thats hard to beat. The only thing I don't really enjoy is that the chili is a little sweet for my liking, but that could just be me.
