I have never enjoyed ribs until we discovered Smokems. Now I can’t get enough of them. These are best dry ribs anywhere, and I’m so grateful they’re conveniently located on my way home from work. 🤗
I make a meal of the ribs. Literally, no side dishes, no bread, nothing else.

I walked in while breaks were occurring. Yet, I couldn't tell! The cashier jumped up and beat me to the register and greeted me with a cheerful WELCOME! Very rare among teenagers these days. A young man greeted me as l opened the door and before the door closed behind me. This was just in 5 seconds of walking end. Not enough room to mention the rest. Clovers and Chick-fil-A watch out! Hometown Small Businesses lead the way and are still ahead in the home atmosphere customer service, hence "Hometown"

Never gives you what you order. My order was delivery and they canceled my portion of the order without notifying me so I couldn't even eat dinner with my husband. Of course he made me eat some of his but not the point

The food is great. However, our sides are always left out. I’ve had to call back countless times and was told I could only get a credit once. My husband is currently driving 15 min back to town because they left both sides out of our order. I understand once but when I say it happens every time it happens every time.

We searched on Google maps for food along our route traveling through. It was about 230 and we hadn't eaten lunch yet. When we saw Smokems was in a gas station we hesitated, but we're hungry and decided to give it a try. The menu had good options, but I asked the register clerk what the favorite items were. She walked us through the most popular lunch sandwich meal, BBQ plate, and hamburger steak house special. Boy, I'm glad I let her sell that hamburger steak and curly fries to me! I do believe I could have eaten a whole bowl of the grilled onions and gravy. The quality of food would compete with Sonny's. One employee in particular left an impression on me. Kimberly not only walked us through our first visit order, but for the duration of our dine in experience I noticed she led the rest of the staff the way a solid manager or owner would. Between taking orders for the apparent mid afternoon local hot spot she cleaned up the dinning area, encouraged other staff, went out of her way to make sure the ice machine was completely full in case there was another rush of customers, all the while greeting each person with kindness and a smile! Employees like her that take ownership, are self motivated to do a great job, and radiate warm kindness are rare and special. I wanted to share what I noticed and give encouragement to others...go eat the BBQ at the gas station!

Hannah and Jaelyn work here, and they are wonderful and very cheerful employees. Not only is the food delicious, it's the best barbecue in town. And their service is awesome. I eat here a few times a month. The prices are reasonably also.
