“We celebrated my son’s birthday at Frenchies in Montgomery, and it was our very first visit. The restaurant is absolutely charming—like stepping into a cozy little hole-in-the-wall French café you’d expect to find in France. Because my youngest is autistic and doesn’t do well with crowds, we booked an early reservation. Our server was outstanding—exceptionally patient with my son and all his unique requests. That alone made the evening special. We started with the cheese board, tuna dip, mac & cheese, and escargot. What impressed me most was that our server didn’t rush us—she let us finish the starters before taking our entrée orders. I wish more places did this, since it gives you a chance to gauge how full you are before moving on. The French onion soup was a standout and an absolute must-try—it was among the best I’ve ever had. For entrées, we ordered the Croque Madame, the flounder, and the burger frites. Everything was cooked to order and beyond delicious. We finished with the crème brûlée, which was heavenly. The cost came to about $60 per person, but we ordered a lot since it was a special celebration, and it felt worth every penny. The restaurant is small and very popular—by the time we left, there were lines forming and the outdoor seating was already filling up. My advice: make reservations if you plan to go on a weekend and be adventurous with your choices—the menu is full of gems. We will definitely be returning!“
