“We eat at our Waffle House most Sundays and always look forward to not only the good food but the friendly staff from the young man who opens the door for us to our usual waitresses especially Katie who has a laugh as big as all outdoors. Have never heard a cross word from any of them no matter how busy they are. No one makes smothered hash browns as well as WH.”

“Found this spot by accident last year and LOVE it. The owner is super friendly but professional. Has the best coffee I’ve had anywhere in town. Love the fact they have vegetarian and vegan options, considering that’s extremely difficult to find in this part of the world. My kids love coming and looking through their Pokémon cards and the amount of events they host is spectacular. 10/10 recommend!”

“My parents and sister and I stopped to eat at the Freight House Restaurant in Downtown Hartselle for the first time ever and that was on Saturday April 12 2025 of this year and this was also the first time we had ever been through Downtown Hartselle especially since we’ve always been on the I-65 part of the city so this was not only nice for a change but everyone at the Freight House Restaurant was so friendly and welcoming and so kind and the food was so great and what was even better was being able to see the CSXT trains go by and we saw 5 trains go by while we were there. Most of the trains we saw were when we were inside the restaurant and the rest of them were when we were outside the restaurant and it was very nice for a change and we’re looking forward to going there again in the future the next time we travel! And if you’re in the Hartselle area or anywhere in Morgan County and you’re either traveling down I-65 going to Nashville or Birmingham or going down US Highway 31 I highly recommend you stop at the Freight House Restaurant in Downtown Hartselle! It is the best restaurant in town!”

“We had a surprise 60th birthday party. We had 52 guests. They had a room that more than accommodated us all, let us come early to put up a banner, we rearranged some tables. They took drink orders and brought out chips and salsa as people were arriving. When the guest of honor got there, they took food orders and got food out timely. They kept drinks filled, chips on tables. They did not charge anything for the room, nor did they add gratuity to tickets. They went above and beyond for us. This is the best place I found to have the party at. Just make sure your guests tip extra good for them, as they worked so hard.”

“I went through the drive thru tonight which was the first time I have ate at a slim chickens. I ordered my chicken strips grilled and they were really good. They weren't over cooked or over seasoned. The fries were tasty too. I looked at the menu and they have great family deals for fair prices. Although this place was wrapped around the building with people the staff was so pleasant, polite, and efficient. I don't leave many reviews but thank you for the good food and service, please keep up the good work.”
