Just wasted 70 dollers on a box of oysters that are half rotten black and rotten threw case away thanks
Isabella served me yesterday at lunch. I arrived a couple of minutes before 11:00 and there were already many cars in the parking lot. The customer seats themselves and I was greeted by Isabella quickly. Everything was nice and clean. I ordered grouper. The wait was reasonable. When she brought it it looked so appetizing and it did not disappoint! I have heard that they have fresh fish brought in twice a week. I eat there maybe once a month and it has never disappointed me! There's shrimp and grits and all the things that they do with them are delicious. They are almost as good as Classic on Noble. Great restaurant. Reasonable prices.
I recently ordered from Capeside Fish Company in Rainbow City and had a really positive experience overall. I ordered through DoorDash, so I can’t fully rate in-person service, but I can speak to food quality, speed, and packaging. Everything arrived quickly, fresh, well packaged, and intact with plenty of utensils included.
I ordered the half-and-half shrimp basket so I could try both the blackened grilled shrimp and the popcorn shrimp. The blackened shrimp were excellent!! The blackened shrimp had nice charred bits !!! Most importantly, they were not overcooked, which takes real skill when grilling smaller shrimp.
The popcorn shrimp were more traditional, but what stood out was the batter. Popcorn shrimp can sometimes be overly oily because of their size, yet these were light, crispy, and not greasy at all. That balance made them very enjoyable.
The Sunshine Scallops were probably the most unique item I tried. They’re served with an orangey garlicky sauce that includes bacon and green onions. The scallops themselves were cooked perfectly with a great texture. The bacon added a subtle smokiness, and the citrus glaze paired nicely with the garlic notes. The flavors blended even better with each bite, and it’s definitely something I would order again.
I also tried a small portion of gumbo. It was a solid, standard gumbo and came with saltine crackers, which anyone familiar with gumbo will appreciate. On its own it was good, but adding their house hot sauce really elevated it. The sauce has a slight sweetness along with the heat, and it balanced the gumbo nicely.
This was my first time trying fried alligator. Texture-wise, it reminded me somewhat of chicken but with more chew ….similar to chicken gizzards in texture, though the flavor is milder and lighter. It was enjoyable, especially paired with their house hot sauce.
Their coleslaw is cream-based rather than vinegar-based. If that’s your preference, you’ll probably really enjoy it.
Now for the hush puppies this is the only item I wasn’t over the moon about. I’m definitely a hush puppy girly and usually prefer the classic version. I appreciate their creativity with the jalapeño cheddar style, and they were cooked properly. If I had one suggestion, it would be slightly adjusting the sugar-to-cornmeal ratio. Adding cheese and jalapeños introduces extra moisture, so increasing the dry balance just a bit could help keep that classic hush puppy texture. Cooking is subjective and taste varies, but that small tweak could make them even stronger.
Overall, I’d rate Capeside Fish Company a 9.5/10 based on everything I ordered. The food feels worth the price, portions were fair, and the menu has some unique offerings. Honestly, I think they surpass what about 98% of people typically expect from a seafood spot because most people could walk in and find something they genuinely enjoy. I’d absolutely visit in person next time to experience the full atmosphere and service.
Fantastic
Best Seafood 🦞 around!!! Great Service! Great Prices!
Crab claws were over fried but I ate them anyway.First time this happened
Amazing shrimp and grits! Everything everyone else had looked great also
BBQ salmon BLT. Fresh salmon yum 😋
We'd heard about this great fish restaurant from several friends and decided to stop in for lunch while in the area. Perhaps Thanksgiving week was not the perfect time for a first visit. Based on today's visit we would rate it 3.5 if we could. Rustic facility, but everything seemed clean and even though they sell fresh fish there was not a hint of fishy aroma. Every staff member we saw was friendly and helpful. We ordered a shrimp basket and mahi nuggets. The food arrived quickly and was hot and plentiful. The fries were 5 star. The mahi was nicely breaded, but a little tough. We did not care for the breading on the shrimp nor the hushpuppies and the slaw was bland. We will give them another try when in the area, but order something different.
Staff was friendly and the food was fresh. They have so many options. I'll be back again to try more.
This time I had the fried Mahi Mahi bites which were delicious. My friend gor the fried catfish, which was a huge piece and also delicious. Can't wait to try more of the menu.

It seems that can’t deviate from a simple dish, I have celiac went in the other night and blew the poor waitress mind but asking a simple question. I didn’t think it would have been so hard to take the ingredients that were to be in a taco and put it on the chips. But was told they couldn’t do that.
Very fresh fish. True southern cooking. They don't serve alcohol but are happy for you to bring your favorite wine for the perfect pairing
Best fresh seafood in Gadsden and they have awesome daily dinner and lunch specials. Staff is awesome
I would like to say that Capeside goes far and beyond in trying to make their customers happy with their food..... We had order the Game Day Bucket this past Saturday for a tailgate get together... when we got it the shimp with shell was really mushy and was not good.... I called and explained ......they were willing to give us a refund but they also offered to cook some more..... I had just gotten out of hospital and my husband was not willing to go get it because he would miss the ballgame they were watching.... the little lady I was talking to said she would deliver to us.... Wow..... I started crying .... to think this day in time you have customer service such as that.....you just don't find this.....to find such kindness.....we live on Noccalula Mtn... she did deliver and the shimp was delicious......Thank you so much Capeside for showing us you put your customers 1st....you are a #1restaurant....
I wanted to like this place but the food is mid at best. Service was really good.
