Calamity Creek is a quiet and charming restaurant with wheelchair accessibility, featuring a long ramp leading to the entrance. Because of its location near the river, the restaurant is built on stilts, and a humorous sign at the base of the ramp suggests reaching at least 70 mph to clear the river. It is considered a hidden gem just outside of Samson, with great food, service, and prices. The atmosphere is friendly and inviting, making it a perfect stop for those passing through or local residents.
The restaurant is famous for its delicious burgers, including the butter bacon melt burger, which comes highly recommended. The menu also offers a regular cheeseburger and a larger size, with the larger burger being unexpectedly big. Reviewers praise the firecracker burger and large cheeseburger combo as standout choices. Besides burgers, the restaurant serves cheese curds and cheesecake, both of which received praise from customers. The staff are friendly and attentive, often offering cheesecake after meals.
Other popular items include cowboy bites and a hamburger salad, both described as excellent. Customers enjoy the reasonable prices and unique, country-style atmosphere. Visitors also appreciate the signs around the restaurant, adding to its charm. Overall, Calamity Creek provides a great experience for anyone looking for good country cooking in a scenic setting.
