Stopped by after visiting Selma and my goodness the food here is amazing. That brisket was so incredibly tender and flavorful. Folks behind the counter made us feel welcome even though we were clearly outsiders (we're Asian). Real homey vibe. You can tell this spot is a gem for the community. Lots of customers on a first name basis with the staff.

The bar-b-que is on point and off tha chain! The main reason I like this restaurant is the friendly, down-home, down-to-earth, family atmosphere. Lannie's has been around over 80 years and is family owned & operated with multiple locations in Selma, AL. So stop by & check 'em out!

In town for a wedding and saw Lannie's come up first and second for food in Selma. I was very disappointed with the food. The ribs were tough and chewy and for as much as I like bbq and trying different styles, I didn't like their sauce in the ribs. It was like a combination of sweet and sour sauce with ketchup. I wasn't sure if the ribs had been cooked the previous day or if I just got a bad cut of meat. The corn nuggets were the highlight of the meal.

Generous portions of BBQ pork with sides like potato salad, baked beans, fried okra, onion rings and fries. Come hungry as portions are big.

Lannie's Bar- B-Q Spot is a professional Bar-B-Q restaurant! The staff is friendly with great service! The food is excellent from family tradition recipes. From the lemon ? pepper ?️ wings to the dressing. Everything on the menu is slammingly delicious! Also too. The atmosphere is awesome from waitresses to chef. Most definitely. Lannie's Bar-B-Q Spot is the best bbq restaurant in Selma!

We stopped in our way through Selma after reading about this place as a recommended spot to eat from a book about the Civil Rights Trail. Upon driving into Selma we had no idea a tornado had ripped through here about a month prior. The neighborhood was destroyed but Lannie's was open! We got to Lannie's and parked and the staff came out right away to take our order car side as they are not doing dine in right now. We got the pulled pork sandwiches and potato salad to go. The ladies who work there are lovely and friendly!! We stopped and ate our sandwiches on the hood of our car downtown after stopping to see the Edmund Pettus Bridge. The pulled pork was great. They put cracklings on top. I personally like my pulled more more shredded than it was. It was mors just pieces of pork. The sandwich is on white bread and I really loved the sauce!! The potato salad was delicious! I think there were diced up pickles in it which gave it a nice flavor! Definitely stop by this place on your way through Selma if you can!

Two fellas from out of town, and I mean OUT OF TOWN, showed up looking for BBQ. They treated my dad and I like family. This restaurant has genuine customer service that can ONLY be found down south. Somebody puts a hand on my back and says, “c’mon in , baby,” and I kno I’m home. Thank God for this restaurant and thank God for Selma, Alabama.

A local favorite and must-try if you’re visiting Selma, Lannie’s is well-loved by Selmans and tourists alike and was recommended to us by everyone we spoke to. Their food comes out piping hot, tender and crispy! The bbq plates and catfish were a hit—side note, some of the best catfish I’ve had and was tender and crispy. Highly recommend getting all the sides. The fried okra was fresh and green under batter, onion rings came out golden fried and buttery moist, absolutely loved the corn nuggets too, potato salad was fresh, but on the sweeter side. Desserts also looked great even though we did not try. There is seating outside on picnic tables, but they are mainly operating curbside ordering as of Dec 2022.
