I’ve been driving by this place with the intention of stopping but never did for several months. I finally committed to try Sam’s Southern Eatery and I was glad I did. The jumbo fried shrimp highlighted Sam's Southern Eatery are true to their name of jumbo, with a delightful crunch revealing the tender shrimp within. The catfish was lightly seasoned and fried, achieving a perfect balance of crispiness and tenderness. I usually don’t enjoy okra unless it is fried hard...
Spent the night in Selma on a drive home from Louisiana. I wasn’t impressed with Selma but this place was the one bright spot of the visit. I ordered the catfish fillets and jumbo shrimp combo with two sides. The menu says 6 shrimp but I was given 8. I am a pig but even I struggled to finish it all. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked.
