I really wanted to like this place! Someone local suggested it and said we had to go, so we did after waiting almost an hour and we’re finally seated just to wait another 15 minutes for someone to come to our table. We ordered the flaming oysters which were just oysters with cheese and bread.. wow, I’d like to say though our waiter was awesome he was super friendly just overwhelmed to say the least! Our food came out sometime later and for the wait and hype it was subpar to say the least. The bill after tip was almost a hundred bucks and what a joke, I never mind spending money on “good” food but that was not it save your time and your money and just go to Boudreaux's half the wait half the price twice the food…

Great spot with live music. Cool open atmosphere with friendly service. Limited food and draft beer selection. Parking is plentiful and similar to all the other causeway restaurants.

Service from Alyssa was awesome. The food is good, just not as good as the service. Still a go to for seafood in the Mobile Bay Area.

Food was not good....not sure why people recommend this place, limited menu and poor food quality. I ordered the grilled shrimp and they were so tough I couldn't eat them, they were taken off the bill!!!! They are really known for their oysters and those were wonderful, LARGE!!!!

Bluegill is one of the oldest seafood restaurants near Mobile. Right on the mobile bay, you get water views while you eat. They usually have live music so keep that in mind if you'd rather something more quiet. Also, in the summer time the inside seating goes fast for those that need the AC, and it is quite limited. The outside seating started as a deck and slowly over the years has been covered and closed in and is sort of inside minus the cool air from an AC unit. At night the singing can be a little more adult as some may imagine so I wouldn't recommend a family with children for a late dinner. There's room to dance by the band or watch others dance. The food has always been great and the staff are very friendly and willing to help in any way. It's pretty high up on my list of seafood restaurants in lower Alabama.

Very good chicken and dumplings special. Good appetizers such as onion rings and of course, oysters. Reasonable pricing and nice outdoor seating on the water.

I have never had gumbo with wild rice, which is very interesting. My gumbo was lukewarm, not hot, and my sautéed crab claws too much sauce. My sister had the half dozen oysters, and she said they were just ok and too much cheese on the salad. I don't know if I will ever come back since Half Shell is much closer and better
