We use to buy there discarded pork bones for our rescue dogs, well they started to cut the bones in half so they could charge us double for them… very bad business lost a loyal customer

Does not answer the phone and does not return voicemail. Promised deer meat in 4-6 weeks or sooner. After not returning my calls, I drove there and picked up my unprocessed meat on the 8th week. I definitely will not be back and definitely do not recommend.

17 dollars a pound for "choice" steak is ridiculous considering they have no marbling and were not any better then a cheap greers steak

This is a great place to buy a variety of quality fresh meat, homemade sausage and even frozen vegetables. The service is also very good, everyone is helpful, knowledgeable and efficient when putting your order together. The prices are in line and can be better than any of the big box grocery stores where only imported meat is available. If you haven't tried South Alabama Custom Meats I recommend paying a visit.

Don't recommend for deer processing. Deer patty sausage was gummy and very spongy when cooked. And the burger was not appealing at all, by looks or taste.
Fresh cut meat. Deer lamb pork steaks they have a little of everything.

I live within a couple of miles of here and shop here pretty often. Every time I go there is a new face behind the counter. Most are real nice. A couple of them ... not so much. Anyway, the things I've tried: Whole chickens are fresh and delicious. Center cut pork chops are beyond good. They are great. Party wings are fresh, reasonably priced and very good. Ground beef is excellent and very reasonably priced. We tried a couple of chuck roasts that were not tender, very cheap cuts so we have avoided the steaks. We get most of our prime steaks at Costco. They are 90% great. I've tried the SA sausage. The pepper and cheese is ok. The rest is tasteless. Very little seasoning. Their bacon is hit or miss. Mostly pretty good. Sometimes kinda slimy. I've bought the little frozen poppers. The sausage stuffed ones are ok. The shrimp stuffed ones are a joke with one tiny shrimp and some cheese. I tried their frozen rabbit. I think it was frozen in 2018. I love skinless cracklings and have bought slabs of fatback from the freezer to make them. The first two slabs were just about ok but the two since are 1/4" of skin and 1/4" of fat. Impossible to make skinless cracklings from that. Makes ok pork skins though. All in all it's a pretty nice meat market but it could stand some improvement.
