Recently, I drove all the way here from Florida to see my beautiful sister graduate. We decided to celebrate by ordering shakes here on me. I ordered the regular sized cotton candy shake, but little did I know that it contained enough sugar to manifest type -3 diabetes (THE WORST KIND) in my pancreas. I’ve had several of my limbs amputated at this point. I can barely dance and I stand at a mere 2ft 7in now like a damn minion. I can not have babies; I CANT EVEN GET IT ON!!!! So I came back to this same Steak ‘n Shake the following week to get a refund. I explained to the franchise owner the damage that shake had done to me. All I asked for was a refund, but he declined saying, “This ain’t no damn charity!! I ain’t got done be finna giving out free shakes all Willy nilly like that!!” It took every fiber, every cell of my being for me not to punch in ya refund for myself. But alas, I’m now crippled.

I would rather lick cow poop off the floor of an entire mall than try to get food from here again. I started the day at 430 am because I needed to be in Troy by 9. After arriving late I hadn't had anything to eat yet. When I get in to the college Cafe I see it. What I was looking for, steak and shake. Little did I know I would never be more frustrated and angry at a restaurant in my entire life. I go to order food at about 12 and order a single with fries and a chocolate milkshake. I noticed that there were a lot of people waiting for food but I didn't think that would be an issue. After waiting for 5 minutes and peaking in the back I noticed there was not a single employee. They soon came back and me and the other 15 or so people waiting in line watch one of the employees take 10 minutes to make a single milkshake. The employee in question looked like she was ready to murder a family of five when she yelled "strawberry milkshake". IT WAS THE LOUDEST THING I HEARD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. One of my friends said that "that's mine" and the employee proceeds to yell "DAMN" and then pump something else into the milkshake. About 10 minutes after this another employee tries to take the overwhelmingly large stack of bags with our food in it and tries to carry them all at once. He then drops one and throws it away without giving anyone their food. About 5 minutes some people get their food but everyone is missing their milkshake. The employee making the milkshakes says " I ain't get no orders I make em when I see em". She then proceeded to leave and not come back till 5 minutes later. After 10 minutes everyone but me has their food. It takes another 10 minutes till I get my food and guess what I don't have. MY MILKSHAKE!!!! I show the lady my receipt and she says "I ain't never get that I make em when I see em and we're out of ice cream. Frustrated and defeated I walk away and go eat my cold food that I have less than 5 minutes to eat because I have somewhere to be. That isn't even the worse part, as I am leaving I see the employee give someone a milkshake. It took everything I had to not go back there and make the milkshake myself. To this day I still do not have my milkshake.

I do not think I've ever had a worse fast food experience. I skipped breakfast this morning at 5, so I'm pretty reasonably hungry. This was also after a three hour drive to Troy University. I sat in a 10-person line for approximately 30 minutes due to all of the workers except for the employee running the grill. After 15 minutes of none of the employees doing anything, I finally get my order taken. Then came another 35-minute wait for EVERYONE (the 15-20 people already waiting before me). Then came the lady behind the counter. She had already managed to piss her middle-aged self off just doing her minimum wage job (having no college degree working at a college is hilarious). She was screaming out milkshakes as people told her what they had because she obviously couldn't read a receipt. When it came to my milkshake, she decided she was going to let out the energy of a thousand suns when announcing it to the whole cafeteria. She let out a blood-curdling "STRAWBERRY MILKSHAKE" twice in order to get my attention. She got it with the first yelp, but she obviously didn't get the hint when I was obviously walking up to the counter. She then slammed my milkshake down on the counter and screamed "DAMN" when turning around, not trying to hide the blatant disrespect toward me. I am a reasonably calm person, but I was about ready to dive over the counter and jump this kind lady. This is the first complaint. When right before I got my food, I witnessed one of the workers try and grab about 5 bags of food (that had already been sitting for 15 minutes) and proceed to drop one and consequently throw it away. When I finally got my food, I was greeted with a lukewarm, unseasoned burger, and fries that were 98% salt. Not to mention the horrible quality of my milkshake. This woman gave me strawberry concentrate with a side of ice cream. I think I would have rather downed 10 pounds of Arby's dipped in sewage and laced with fent than eat this creation from Satan. 0/5 Would not recommend.

They threw food away as a solid 30 people were waiting for it. The person making milkshakes was cussing at people for asking for shakes and giving people the wrong ones. I waited about 30 minutes for my food after watching them fix it and just not give it me.

The food here usually tastes very good, however, it takes FOREVER to get your food. I understand that sometimes the place can become quite busy with so many people on campus, but it should not take 20 minutes for me to get my food with about 4 people in line. This place really needs to speed up the process, especially considering it is on campus and many people are in a hurry to get to class. I would eat here more often if the wait time wasn’t so extensive.
