Half Shell Oyster House Trussville

Absolutely blew me away, everything felt cozy and fancy. Walked in and where greeted with a smile, sat down immediately and within seconds of sitting down we were greeted by John our server. Instantly making us laugh and made us feel welcomed. He talked us through the menu and even showed us some of his items he loves, totally had us hooked. Just an amazing server, food was devoured seconds into being delivered. 10/10 restaurant!

I just left here and I am so disappointed. I’ve been here several times and have had great service but tonight was different. My husband and I came in and waited 30 minutes at our table for someone to greet us and no one ever came. They were not even busy. A bunch of employees including the hostess were just standing around chilling. We finally left. Completely wasted our time. Everything was closed by the time we finally left. As expensive as the food is, please do better guys, honestly.

We sat at the bar. Oysters were good great service.

I got the seafood pasta. It was really good. This was the second time I have got the hush puppies. They are a joke. Very very small and always overcooked. Tasted like they came from a box. Our table got the fried green tomatoes and crab cakes as an appetizer. The tomatoes are sliced so thin it's almost like they took a potato chip, breaded it and fried it. Not much seasoning on it. The crab cakes were okay but not great. Very small. One of us got the asparagus and it was overcooked and had so much oil and butter in it it was almost inedible. The waitress dropped one of the asparagus on the floor and it spilled the butter or oil, whatever it was, on the floor and it wasn't cleaned up. I hate to give a bad review but I also hate for people to go in expecting better and be disappointed.

It was AWESOME‼ NO wait. The hostess was very nice. My waiter was a sweetheart. My food was hot and Delicious. I will definitely come back to eat there again. Especially since they have brunch from 10a-2p on Saturdays and Sundays.

Had a great experience at Half Shell Oyster House. The food was excellent! Everything was fresh and packed with flavor! Sarah took care of us and was amazing from start to finish.
Outgoing, paid attention to detail, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!

Sarah, is always at the bar, makes the best Lavender Mimosas and has immaculate customer service. I always order Orleans crab claws(10/10) and Oyster Sampler (10/10).

Sarah, ofcourse, took care of us for dinner. She’s great! Perfect service, great communicator. We ordered the lavender mimosa, crab craws twice and the oyster sampler. Ready to come back!
