I've been getting breads, croissants, pain au chocolat, and a bunch of other goodies from Ben's for the past year or so. It is without a doubt one of the most high quality bakeries in Tuscaloosa. Recently, I decided to get their coffee and stay in for a couple hours doing light work, and I really enjoyed the experience - they added some nice new tables, there's several rooms where you can sit, I prefer the front one with the windows as it gets a lot of light. Their coffee was quite good, and their pastries are always awesome. Highly recommend you try them out, especially if other coffee shops like Monarch, Turbo, or Strange Coffee are a bit too noisy for you to focus.

Bread is so flaky. Pastries delicious. Pizza sooo good.
First-time customer, but won't be the last! Only bought a loaf of bread today, though there were delicious looking pastries available. There is plenty of seating in a cozy atmosphere with different rooms for privacy or group settings. Will plan to stay longer next time and enjoy a coffee and treat!
Ben's is truly the best bread and pastries and you can find in Tuscaloosa. Most gluten bothers me so I typically opt for a gluten free diet, but since everything is sourdough I can eat and enjoy it with no problems! I've had the jalapeño cheddar bagel, boston cream bombolone, and various danishes. Every thing I've tried has been spectacular—never been unsatisfied! Cannot recommend this place enough!! :)
We love this place! Tuscaloosa gem. Great vibe, great food, and great people.

We were visiting from New York and absolutely delighted to discover this little gem! I’d heard of the place through my mother-in-law, who raves about their sourdough bread (which truly is out of this world), so we decided to stop in for breakfast—and I’m so glad we did.
The coffee was excellent, and the pastries—also made with sourdough—were beautifully crafted and perfectly balanced, not overly sweet. I had the blueberry and custard danish and immediately wished I’d ordered two!
The staff was incredibly warm, welcoming, and helpful, which really added to the experience. The ambiance is bright and inviting, with a clean white interior and a charming mix of mismatched furniture that somehow feels effortlessly intentional.
Another unexpected but much-appreciated bonus: there’s a small play area for kids. My son was happily entertained for almost two hours, which made the visit all the more enjoyable.
Can’t wait to come back next time we’re in town!
My hubby and I found the food to be delicious, the service to be friendly, and the atmosphere to be calm and inviting. We people watch as we enjoy our pastries and coffee. It has become a Friday morning ritual for us.
This was my first visit to Ben’s Bread, and everything was absolutely delicious. I can’t wait to go back and try more 🤤🤤
What a great family -run place. Loved the pastries. A bit too expensive.

Wheelchair accessibility: There's a really nice ramp up to the door, but the parking lot connected to the ramp is very uneven and hard to manage using a wheelchair or walker
