My server named Ethan tonight was one of the most respectful, courteous, and genuine employee’s I’ve ever come across in the restaurant industry. Whatever this location needs to do to keep him, should be done. Thank you again David to hosting us at HIEN ATKINS BEAUTY LOUNGE AND MEDSPA! It was a pleasure as always with the greatest food and atmosphere in Tuscaloosa!

We have been coming to family visits sense two years after Evangelines was opened usually three to five times a year. Our average tab in xs of $2,000 Never in all my years of travel have i been ignored by service and experienced such a drop in food quality as this! A classic example of success breeding complacency and now low caliber food and service. After a decade I expected much more! Not the case ladies and gentlemen. Don't go out of your way to go through the hassle of trying to get a reservation and any special request. They just don't care and the food is crummy!

Online stated that they no longer take reservations the day before home games. I even tried calling before we left. We took an Uber over to this place and was told we needed a reservation in order to eat. It was a waste of time due to the reservation policy being very unclear.

One of the better restaurants in the Tuscaloosa area. Solid performer with a decent offering. We'll go again at some point. 30-50 per person is definitely on the low end of what you should expect to pay.

Reservations required. Food was delicious, however the desserts were a disappointment.

We had some poor time management on our part and ended up an hour early for our reservation. Ordered a drink at the bar and they were able to get us sat within 15 minutes. From the front desk, to the bar, to our server everyone was extremely kind and accommodating. They had several specials including a scallop dish with a miso glaze. It was honestly one of my favorite things I've ever eaten. Atmosphere, food, and service were impeccable across the board. We'll definitely be visiting again.

The service was absolutely impeccable! I love our waitress and even the manager came to congratulate me and my boyfriend on our way out! They helped him put together a special ask! Also, the food was amazing!

Finally got the chance to visit. Had an incredible time. Atmosphere was excellent. The crab cakes were recommended to me and they are now among some of my favorite I've ever tasted. Great spot for a date night or a special occasion.

Great variety in menu items, rotating new steak, soup, and seafood options frequently.
Excellent staff.
David is attentive to detail and his managerial/ownership skills are the best in town.
Best place in town for a date.
Highest recommendation possible.

I've been a patron for 20 years. This is without a doubt my favorite restaurant of all time. I consider myself a food critic that has been to restaurants all over the globe. I am also a total snob. The staff is one of the most genuine slices of America you will ever find. The service is white table cloth quality. The food is awesome. You will not find a place as unique as this anywhere else. This restaurant legitimizes Tuscaloosa as a foodie town.

We went for our daughter's 21st birthday and loved it. Atmosphere, service and food- all top notch.

The filet mignon was tender and rich, with sides that felt both classic and elevated. Service was polished yet warm, and the elegant dining room set a refined, intimate tone for the evening.

Elegant atmosphere, superb, staff, and the food was on point! I would highly recommend the chocolate cake, the filet, crem brulee, shrimp and grits, and for the appetizer shrimp

The filet was tender and full of flavor, balanced by seasonal vegetables that felt carefully chosen. Starters carried the same refinement, and service stayed attentive without hovering. The warm, intimate setting made the evening feel special without excess.

Evangeline's is a fantastic gem in Tuscaloosa. Food is expertly crafted, and the atmosphere is that of fine dining. You'd think the pricing would be expensive, but honestly, it is rather reasonable. I don't think I've had an appetizer, meal, or dessert that disappointed me, the many times I've been. My only complaint is that the menu changes (which is great), but the menu online doesn't always match on-site. (It's hard on my picky-eating wife.)
