Usually I've always had a good experience and the food has been great. Today's dinner was mediocre at best. I've loved their duck in the past, which was also a decent sized portion. However, tonight's duck was tiny piece and taste was not even close yo what they've been capable of. Was a big disappointment. Hopefully it's not a new chef or we may have to find another location for dinner outings. Their portion sizes have definitely gone down within just the last one year. Don't know what's up.

Evangeline's is our favorite restaurant when we visit Tuscaloosa. Just fined here last night. Service is 5 stars. Management is 5 stars. Staff from the hostess, servers and bartenders are always 5 stars. Love the intimate setting and ambience. Food is always amazing! I also want to mention that we had reservations for 2 during parents weekend at UA which is very busy for restaurants. Our table was delayed which was understandable for us. We were not upset at all but the manager discounted our bottle of wine at dinner for the delay. I'm always impressed with the service here & how far above & beyond they go to please their customers.

We loved the food, 100% recommend the duck. Probably one of the best dishes we've ever had in all of our travels. Service was wonderful and staff was very accommodating and friendly.

Very good restaurant. Good for special occasions. The shrimp and grits were very good and the scallops were very good. The wagyu was also very good. Matt our server was very attentive and provided good service.

We love Evangeline's and make a point to eat here when we visit Tuscaloosa. There were 4 of us for dinner, and everything we had was delicious! Love the atmosphere and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a special dinner experience.

This was our first visit to Evangeline and certainly won't be our last. Our server, Matt, was extremely attentive and made wonderful recommendations. The duck entree and the pork chop entree were delicious!

Evangeline's had a great atmosphere and vibe, but it is lacking in quality food and service. Every course I had came out cold which is disappointing. The flavor was good but nothing amazing. My server was great, but sometimes it was hard to reach her when I needed her. For instance when I ordered a lamp chop and had no steak knife to cut it, she only came with the knife after I had been struggling with my butter knife for over 5 minutes. I would say if you are looking for a nice place to get dinner in Tuscaloosa it's not bad, but I wouldn't say it's a must have. I think you can find better food in Birmingham.

Our food and drinks were amazing!! Valentines decor was beautiful down to the straws and heart shape napkins!! Our server Tyler was fabulous and very attentive!! Over all Wonderful experience and will for sure be back!!!

Some of the best food I've had in a long time. Only thing that was kinda scary was our Red Fish and 5 cheese dip had a few fish bones in it. Other than that the filet and scallops were phenomenal!!!!

My wife and I's favorite restaurant in Tuscaloosa. They change their menu seasonally. The service is fantastic and you are treated special. The food has never disappointed. It's the perfect place for a celebration or just a date night.

I grew up in Tuscaloosa and never tried this place. My sister and I always thought it was an "exclusive" place. When we were students at UA if our friends wanted a nice meal, we stuck to Chuck's Fish, Ocean in Bham and Cypress Inn when it still existed. This was nicer than all of those experiences combined. This is the best restaurant in Tuscaloosa in my opinion. Food 10/10 Service 10/10 Ambiance 10/10 Quality 10/10 Location 10/10 We celebrated my parents 45th wedding anniversary here and it was a fabulous night top to bottom. I initially tried getting a reservation at River but was told they were all booked out and that we would have to come at 4:30 and just wait around until a table became available. I didn't want to put my parents through that. I called Evangeline's and they were extremely polite and accommodating. I told them we were celebrating my parents and they said they would bring out a toast and a dessert. I asked if they could they make the toast non alcoholic and they remembered and brought out ginger ale for my conservative Muslim family. Please get the bread when you dine here. It has nigella black seeds in it and is served warm. It reminded me of Middle Eastern style bread. The bar tender makes the best virgin strawberry lemonade mocktail I have ever had. I can't stop raving about this place. Only complaint was one our servers misheard me when I asked her to pack my Brussels sprouts in my box. They were missing and I was bummed because they were fantastic. The chef really knows how to cook with natural flavors and everything tasted exceptional. Foodies make a trip a trip to Tuscaloosa and come eat here.

Evangeline's is one of the nicest restaurants in town. White table cloth. Limited number of tables. Good bar and wine list. Reservations required. The service is great. Good for couples, groups, and special occasions. The food is delicious.
