Outstanding Thai Restaurant. I have taken guests from around the world who really know Thai food and said it was the best. GREAT atmosphere in historic house. Positive friendly warm atmosphere. One of the few places my vegetarian husband will husband will eat out. <3

Have eaten at Ruan Thai many times for lunch and dinner. Food is always delicious and served in eye pleasing way. Pad thai is the best I have had anywhere, not just in Tuscaloosa. Curries are also very tasty and in distinct pleasing variations. Servers are consistently courteous and attentive in my experience. Great place to run into people you know from town and gown.

Absolutely phenomenal food and service. My girlfriend and I had been eyeing them for a while, decided to finally give them a shot. Woman on the phone was very helpful and kind, the young man who met us at the door was funny and friendly, and of course the food was incredible. Pad Kee Mao and Pad See You were both seasoned and prepared beautifully, we'll definitely be making a return soon. Thanks so much Ruan Thai!

Great, authentic thai food. Service is not particularly fast, so this place isn't ideal for lunch if you're in a hurry to get back to work. I almost always order whatever the special of the day is, but the thai spring rolls are great, as are the curries and the coconut soup. If you prefer to control the level of spice in your food, order your curry "mild" and then ask for the "spice tray." Prices are reasonable for the quality.

Best vegetarian options in town. They can make everything on the menu that way. Service is a little slow but the food is good.

Always enjoy Ryan Thai! Especially the soups!

Pretty good food and laid back atmosphere

Wonderful atmosphere for conversation over a meal.

We had a take-out dinner order. The food was fair and the portions were quite small. In particular, the Siam Steamed Fish had no more than a few ounces of fish, the Cashew Noodles had no nuts, and the Massamun curry was mostly liquid. We visit this city occasionally and have both eatin in and taken out from Ruan. In general, the food had been good to very good and the portions were sufficient. Something has gone wrong with the management or kitchen staff. Particularly surprising as there is another Thai restaurnat diagonally across the street!

Wonderful staff. Great atmosphere. It's nice to feel like you're in Thailand at someone's home having dinner. Your spice and heat level you can decide. Sushi is always fresh. Made to order. Not always available so call first. A must to visit. Parking in the back. Also some parking across the street.

My daughter is always talking about the sushi at this place and when I arrived on Thursday 10-4, we went that Friday around 11ish. We parked in the back and came through the back door, parking lot is clean and everything. The waiter seated us upon entering and I was impressed with the decor both on the tables and walls. The wait staff wear all black and ask if you've been there before. I ordered some tea and it tasted like coconut and orange to me, I also had some soup that was very good, but I don't remember name. My daughter wanted sushi but they told you before entering on the brown wood semi menu board that they were out .When she asked the waiter he said the chef that makes it had an accident. We ordered chicken and shrimp pad thai both tasty and enjoyed the atmosphere, it was a little cool in there but overall lovely. The restrooms are clean and like my daughter stated earlier a crowd would form around 1130 and people were coming.
