Thai Basil Sushi II is one of my favorite spots for asian food and sushi! I had the Pad Thai this time, and it was absolutely delicious.
My usual go-to dishes here are their Masaman Curry and Coconut Soup, both of which are consistently amazing and packed with flavor. And if you’re a sushi fan, their nigiri is super fresh and surprisingly affordable in the US!!

The service is friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy—just an all-around great place for a meal. Highly recommend checking it out.

Vegan Food For Thought

Beautiful restaurant with great food. If you're looking for delicious vegan options they have lots and even some gluten free. The staff was very helpful and informative.

Vegetarian options: Plenty of items to choose from and they can even customize many other dishes to make them vegetarian and even vegan.

Maybe the best restaurant in Tuscaloosa? Absolutely love this place, one of the saddest parts of graduating from Alabama was no longer living down the street from here. Service and atmosphere are rock solid.

Food is absolutely delicious, especially for the price. I personally recommend the Masaman Curry. That was the first thing I had there, and I’ve only ordered it every time I’ve gone there.

Service was top notch, staff was super friendly. The food was incredible -the complimentary coconut soup was creamy and a great starter. The Panang curry was sweet, creamy, spicy, and delicious. The server even gave me additional rice when I ran out. I’ll be coming back here next time I’m in Tuscaloosa!

Vegetarian options: Almost everything on the menu comes with chicken or beef, but Thai food is just as good without it and they’d be happy to make it for you.

Are these other reviews real? The service is terrible and some training needs to be done on how to manage a restaurant when it's busy. Staff were running around like chickens with heads cut off. We spent 20 minutes waiting to add my party to the list to be seated and no one even so much as greeted us. People kept flowing in and cutting in line by going up to the bar to speak with the woman host who was doing everything but making eye contact with the growing line of people. Then after chasing her down and asking her to attend to the line of people behind us, I was told it would be 20 more minutes because there were "parties in front of us" when we were there the longest.

Honestly, I'm rating two stars because the food is just mediocre at best, and it's the only Thai place in town. We were once frequent customers — choosing to overlook entrees that sometimes had to be sent back to the kitchen because the cook wasn't right, overly thick curry, and stingy rice portions. The food isn't good enough to overlook this incident, and if I'm choosing to spend my hard earned money somewhere, it dang sure won't be where I'm made to feel like dirt.
