I gotnl totally lost in the area becuase the roads are not very lit up. I pulled over and was looking for a place to eat. This place came up and I was extremely satisfied. Food was great and service time was quick. Prices were reasonable and parking was ample. I will return. I recommend the carne asada with corn tortillas.

Food and service is great. Margaritas are ok. Been here many times and I'm not convinced there is hardly any alcohol in them. We typically ask for an extra shot of tequila. If you are looking for a good margarita I'd look elsewhere.

Wasn't very busy when I stopped in on a whim but they were very quick to help me order & bring out my food. Super delicious. Highly recommend the chilli relleno, one of my favorite Hispanic dishes & they did it well. Reasonable prices for the food.

El Poblano has been around for years and is a great place for lunch or dinner with large tables for groups. Like most Mexican restaurants, you are greeted with typical chips and salsa. Here if you want more, you have to ask. When my friend and I met for lunch, I was impressed with the number of choices on their lunch menu. You can get nice size portions for just $11. I chose the Burrito Relleno, which is a burrito covered with queso with guacamole and sour cream on the inside. The dish comes with rice and beans. You can order it with chicken, beef, or spinach. When I went at 12:30 pm there were still a lot of people in the restaurant, but luckily I was able to find a parking place and get a table without waiting.

Came here for a family gathering. My family reserved an area for us to gather, eat & celebrate the soon-to-be arrival of my cousin's 2nd child. I come from a large, energetic family & this was the perfect place for us to gather. Plenty of room. The food was also very good. Menu items like tacos, guacamole, chips, salsa etc were served catering style. We made our own plates & it was nice to try a little of everything. Service was friendly. The staff made sure they were available enough to make those of us who wanted cocktails our drinks, but gave us enough distance to where it really felt like an intimate get together. Highly recommend this place for any kind of gathering. I've dined here for lunch, but it's been several years ago. This recent experience makes me want to come back for lunch or dinner soon. Great peach margaritas!

El Poblano is a nice local Mexican restaurant in the Rocky Ridge area of Vestavia Hills. The service was attentive and friendly from the greeting throughout the meal. The restaurant is well kept and spotless. The chips and salsa were good and plentiful. I had lunch fajitas. They were very good. The steak had a great flavor. I really enjoyed the meal. The price was very reasonable.

If you like flavor, this ain't the place. Chile relleno was tough and bland. Return I this the server how tough it was, they offered no remedy, so guess they didn't care. Can't think of any from any other restaurant that was this poor. Even the salsa needed seasoning. The overly thick chips were very hard and tasteless. The rice was decent. If that wasn't enough, I was charged for a dinner instead of lunch because I didn't specify a number. So it's not enough to say "the Chili Relleno lunch", while pointing to it on the menu. You must say #2. Complete BS.
