I had read so many positive reviews of this place. They are exaggerated.
The Good News is that it was an acceptable Cuban sandwich. I've had better, for sure. There was not much meat on it but it scratched my itch. The bad news is that they ask for a tip just for taking your money and offer NO SERVICE. What am I tipping for??
Why not simply raise the price of a sandwich and give your employees a raise rather than asking people to tip for non-existent service?
They were also out of tea.
I won't go out of my way to go back.

The best Cuban subs in the world. I was a customer when they were in Atlanta back in the day and every chance I get I stop in here when I'm anywhere near vestavia hills Alabama.

Ordered the large Cuban. The sandwich had one paper thin piece of ham, and 3oz of roasted pork. The pork had a cinnamon taste which is unusual for a typical Cuban sandwich. Needless to say I won't be back.

Great food and friendly staff! We got the black bean soup, a pork tamale, guava & cheese pastelitos, and two of the sandwiches for lunch. Everything was really good and the guava & cheese pastelitos (pastries) secured this spot as one of our favorite cuban places. I'm not even from the Birmingham area, but would go out of my way to come back here.
