Service was impeccable. Food was salty and drench in oil. Margaritas had table salt around the rim.

the food is terrible, cheese dip is worse, waiter didn't check on us once so service sucked. stomach hurt so bad after eating here this place smelt like i just walked into a honky tonk bar. do better. cheese was literally white cheddar cheese or something

actually the worst mexican food i've had. how in the world do you mess up CHEESE DIP. i couldn't finish my food. and the cheese dip was basically white velveta cheese. service was okay i guess. and the place itself smelled of cigarettes and old lady.

Very expensive, and there's nothing Mexican about it, I ordered some enchiladas that seemed sweetened, they weren't spicy at all.

Wife and I are on the hunt for some cheap, greasy Tex-Mex in the Vestavia/Hoover area. Up until now we've had to go to Los Amigos in Lakeview which is too far away (and prices are hiking up).Los Rancheros food was delicious, possibly some of the best we've had recently. Quesadillas were very good and my wife enjoyed her fajitas thoroughly. Chips and salsa are free but are nothing special. And the Margaritas we had were good too (not too tart).I have a couple of complaints though, for the weary diner:1) this place seems like a Vestavia staple, meaning at 7pm on a weekday, the place got FILLED with families and little kids, seemingly out of nowhere, and the kids kind of sucked any remaining atmosphere out of the place.2) we were not told ahead of time, but they charge a fee for paying with a credit card. They also charge a liquor tax (which may be Vestavia ordinance, not sure). Our bill came out with an extra $10 that we were not expecting.

Never disappointed with a meal here. Some of the best steak you will get in a Mexican restaurant anywhere! Top shelf Rita being the Friday special doesn't hurt either.
