Slice Pizza & Brew Vestavia

Very disappointed with the customer service. While we were seated, a staff member loudly said that “customers expect pizza the minute they sit down,” in a sarcastic tone that felt directed at guests. I understand restaurants get busy, but speaking about customers that way is unprofessional and uncomfortable. It definitely left a bad impression.

Slice has a few locations. This one is near the Collonade and not far from hwy 280. They have salads and sandwich options as well. Real plus is they have vegan gluten free crust, which we need. *Gluten prep may not be consistent and cross contamination may happen, so if very sensitive, don't trust full compliance.
Service varies depending on server you get and time of day. It's mostly college age staff and some are great, some stand around watching you need something, like silverware. Sound inside can also vary, as they have music playing sometimes too loud, sometimes reasonable level. When busy, it can be noisy and the free range children can add to it.
This location has had an issue with the locks on the men's bathroom door not working (someone call a locksmith, for cryin' out loud) and cracked window panes for a while now. Seemingly small details perhaps, but having now seen them for months, make you wonder what else may be busted.
Good food, but be prepared for varying atmosphere, service and wait.

The name doesn’t do this place justice. Had a wonderful Brown Butter Pasta. They make their own bacon and it shower. Must have dish if you are close by. The bartender, River, said the wings were super good. Look forward to trying that. To boot they had a very good homemade Cheesecake. Give it a shot.

I’ve dined in at slice vestevia for years and the service has always been amazing but for some reason the silverware is getting worse and worse and I’m not a fan of the new napkins

Food-we shared a Philly cheesesteak pizza. It was good but nothing special. Given all the money spent on the beautiful building, I’m not sure what they didn’t put in a wood fire pizza

Service-our waitress was Gracie. We really enjoyed her service. As soon as we walked in she came over to seat us even though she was carrying plates to bus. To me that showed how she prioritizes customer service. This trend continued throughout her visit

Ordered to go pizza from here. After eating half the pizza I had persistent stomach issues through the entire next day. I normally would chalk this up to an excess of dairy, but my roommate had one slice and his stomach got messed up too.

I came in on a Saturday morning from the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm smile from the host, that set the tone for an amazing experience. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the food was absolutely delicious every bite was packed with flavor. Our server, Emma, truly stood out. She was attentive, friendly, and hands down gave us the best service I’ve ever had. This place is a gem, and I can’t wait to come back!

Ordered pizza today as I watched the guys cooking it handle chicken wings then touch my pizza. Now my stomach is a mess. Never again!

I would not order pizza here tonight. Our pizza tasted bad and didn’t look good, either, so I called and was told they opened the wrong bag of cheese and apparently, this could not be remedied. We love this place usually but the mysterious cheese tonight is thick, spicy, and just ruins the pizza. We had to throw it away.

Aidan (idk how he spells it) was so great and I loved his service. Even when it was busy, he made sure I knew my food and drink was coming out. 10/10 great food great service

We came on a beautiful sunny afternoon, planning to enjoy pizza and a drink outside. We were seated promptly and given menus, but from there the service stopped. No water was brought to the table, no one checked in, and after more than 30 minutes no order had been taken. Towards the end of our wait, we noticed another table that arrived after us finally have someone take their drink order, but still not their food order. We had nothing at all.

There were no dog bowls on the patio, so I’m not even sure it’s dog friendly. Either way, it felt like we’d been forgotten, which is disappointing.

We’ve been frequent customers, using this place for personal and corporate catering many times. That history made this experience all the more surprising. After checking the reviews, it’s clear that while the average rating is high, there are many similar low-star reviews describing slow or inattentive service.

When the food comes, it’s good, but service matters just as much. Unfortunately, this visit has cost them both my personal and business patronage.
