We have NEVER had a mediocre meal, it’s always EXCELLENT. We are beyond blessed in the area where we reside (Auburn) to have many fine dining establishments, so it’s very competitive. In my opinion, THE WAVERLY LOCAL is always the most consistent and adds a welcome laid back atmosphere. It’s always my first choice if we can get a reservation.
As before, the food and service were flawless. Serena was truly the best. The ribeyes were perfect and the shrimp and grits were delicious. The Fig and Wasp cocktails and the apple butter ones were awesome, and the pineapple tartlets were a work of art, and delectable. We love this restaurant and will certainly be back!
We had our first visit and it will definitely not be the last! Food was delicious, we received excellent service at the bar and the singer was very talented!

The Waverly Local is a cozy and charming restaurant that offers a delightful dining experience. The food is consistently great, from steak to fish to apps to salad. Favorite dishes include the perfect ribeye, the delicious shrimp and grits, the pimento cheese and fry bread, and the roast pork dish. For dessert, you must try the chocolate pudding and the coconut cake. Diners enjoy the Fig & Wasp cocktail and recommend this place to friends. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is known for its great atmosphere and a laid-back vibe, though it can get pretty loud when packed. The Waverly Local is always worth the trip.
