The atmosphere and bar are great. However their bourbon drink with apple butter in it was undrinkable. The martini was okay. The apps and bread were fine, but the shrimp and grits were terrible. The shrimp was covered in bbq seasoning to the point that it was gross. My stomach hurt for a day after eating it. The coconut cake was okay, but it was very dry and tasted like it had been frozen and thawed. Not moist at all like a good coconut cake should be. Overall the price is too high to be serving food and drinks at the quality they are serving them. I would expect much better when paying those prices.

Food was absolutely fantastic. We had the brunch buffet on Sunday. Everything was fresh and delicious. Wide variety for everyone. Plus they had some live music. My wife said she would drive from Birmingham to eat here.

We've been here a few times for brunches and dinners, and the food is consistently great. Steak to fish to apps to salad, everything is spot-on. I always get Fig & Wasp cocktail. I see that they increased their prices recently but that's ok as long as food is THAT GOOD. My only complaint is that it gets pretty loud.

The Waverly Local is always worth the trip! I love the vibe, and the food never disappoints! Favorite appetizer for us is the pimento cheese and fry bread (the BREAD!!!). Husband always wants the ribeye! I love the seasonal pasta or the fried rice specials. And don't sleep on the roast pork dish! And for dessert, you must try the chocolate pudding (like a mousse) and the coconut cake. We have recommended this place to so many and it always gets rave reviews from our friends.
