The gas pumps literally never work, you have to go inside every time it’s so inconvenient
5-Star Review for Dale’s Service Station
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (10/10 – Absolutely the pinnacle of roadside perfection!)
If you’re cruising through Alabama and need a fuel stop that feels like a warm Southern hug, look no further than Dale’s at 275 Co Rd 1242 in West Point. Hands down, this is the crown jewel of gas stations in the entire state – a hidden gem that punches way above its weight with unbeatable value and that rare “we’ve got your back” vibe that keeps you coming back for more.
First off, the fuel prices here are a steal – consistently the lowest I’ve seen on my routes from Birmingham to Cullman. I filled up my tank with premium for under what the big chains charge for regular, saving me enough to splurge on seconds at the counter. It’s not just cheap; it’s smart savings that make every mile feel like a win.
But let’s talk about the real MVP: the Hunt Brothers Pizza. Fresh-baked right there behind the counter, with that crispy crust, gooey cheese, and toppings piled high – pepperoni perfection or loaded veggie, it doesn’t matter; it’s all mouthwatering magic. I grabbed a whole pie on a whim during a road trip, and it was leagues better than any fast-food knockoff. Paired with their morning biscuits or a creamy milkshake, it’s the kind of grab-and-go meal that turns a quick pit stop into a mini feast. Who knew a gas station could outshine pizza joints twice its size?
The place is spotless top to bottom – pumps gleaming, floors you could eat off (tempting after that pizza), and shelves stocked with everything from local snacks to trucker essentials. The family-owned charm shines through in the staff: super friendly folks who chat like old pals, crack a joke to brighten your day, and even share tips on the best backroads if you’re exploring. It’s that genuine, down-home service that makes you feel like family, not just another pump number.
Dale’s isn’t just a stop; it’s the go-to hub on Hwy 157 that locals swear by and travelers rave about. Skip the overpriced chains and pull in here – you’ll leave with a full tank, a full belly, and a grin that lasts the whole drive. Best fuel stop in Alabama? No contest. I’ll be back next week! Highly recommend to everyone from daily commuters to cross-country haulers.

Great place to buy gas and go to the restroom. Good selection of food and drink although normally my purchases are simply gas and to use the facilities. Very nice station.

Pumps are barely operational. Can't tap to pay. Filthy pump areas. This place was awesome to begin with, but its gone way down hill

I got breakfast pizza recommended by Lori. She was the sweetest. I got this pizza at 4:00 in the morning, and when I walked in she was so energetic. The bathrooms and shopping area was also nicely put together and clean. Shout out to Lori!

Very rude and impolite cashiers will never be back. Learn how to smile ppl and have kindness if you don't like the job then don't work there.

Store clerks are helpful and patient. Almost always the clerks are working the counter register, stocking shelves, preparing fresh food, working Spirits store register and fuel pumps. Thank you!🩷 I am glad there is two employees working most shifts they can help one another.

The staff is nice, but it's just like any other gas station pizza. Well except that this one is much cleaner.
Wheelchair accessibility: Has a ramp to enter the building.

This place used to be the best stop, the only stop, to make in this area. The people were friendly and helpful. Kept fresh coffee going at all times, bathrooms were clean, cups, lids were put out daily, fountain machine and coffee machines were always clean, shelves were stocked, parking lot extras, such as window washer, paper towels, garbage, was all like it should be ... Clean! I'm not sure what happened in the past year, but I have watched this place slowly turn to our dreaded stop. Now, it doesn't matter if you stop in at 6,7,8 or even 9am.... There's no fresh coffee, the counters are nasty and whatever you do, don't ask for fresh coffee to be made!!! Just do it yourself, like I do! At least then, your hands are clean, you'll get it within the hour and with zero attitude from the employee. Sad really!! Was a really nice spot for West point to have.
Kayla the best pizza I've had in awhile Thank you.
