100% amazing! Absolutely love these hotdogs!
Looks like I have a long list of dogs to try out over the next few weeks that I’m here in Wetumpka. The “All The Way” was really awesome! I liked that when I opened the wrapper it was like a banana split… but a hotdog! It had the sauerkraut, pimento cheese, and coleslaw in separate portions along the top of the dog. Under that was a delicious meat/bean chili sauce lathered all over the resting dog. The chili soaked just enough into the bread that it was perfect and not soggy. 100% 10/10! The “Cheezy Beanie”…Oh man!! This one was my favorite out of the two (only because I’m not a big fan of the shredded pimento cheese and prefer a homemade classic pimento spread 🤷🏼♂️) anyway, this dog comes in at the top for me today… because the caramelized yellow onions piled up top a colossal mountain of meat/bean chili flowing into the melting cheese of the underdog. Perfect in every way. 10/10 I’ll eat it again!
You absolutely have to stop in and have yourself a dog from “Grumpy Dog”! They are the second best hot dog stop in Alabama that I have been to. I eat a lot of hot dogs and a lot of food, this right here is the second best hot dog place I’ve been to. Period. I can’t wait to see what I unwrap at tomorrow’s dog day. Y’all have a blessed one and stay safe! Keep slinging them dogs!

Overpriced cold hotdogs with tacky customer service. Not very welcoming. The venue and the ingredients of the hotdogs were unique.

The best hotdogs I’ve ever had! The owner is Chef Will, a trained chef. He offers two specials everyday, a salad and a special sandwich. The salads are huge and fantastic! The prices are very reasonable, service is excellent. If you prefer, he will make your hot dog with any toppings you desire.

I got to experience Grumpy Dog for the first time during Oktoberfest. Service was super quick and very friendly considering the line. I ordered the Chicago hot dog and it reminded me of home ❤️ (minus the poppy seed bun, which is okay!).

Small but friendly hot dog restaurant in the newly renovated downtown area. Small indoor dining area and outdoor seating on a covered patio. I tried their Chicago dog and kraut dog. Both were tasty, but each had its own faults. The Chicago dog came without mustard, a sin on many levels. The chilli on the kraut dog was good, but was very heavy on one of the spices and they put so much kraut that the bun was soggy and dissolving by the time I got to eat it

Great location in Wetumpka’s historic district! We were right across the road from Fríos, and could see the Elmore County Courthouse and Elmore County Museum from the dining room. The outdoor dining area looks fun, though a bit hot for today. The BBQ Chicken wrap was delicious! I met up at the Grumpy Dog with a cousin to talk about our family. The informal setting was just right for our visit—good food and no pressure to rush the meal.
