We drove an hour to get what was advertised as fresh catfish fillets for 2.99 per lb. Showed up, told them we needed 10lbs of the catfish fillets and they said they had them but had a few orders ahead of us, so we waited no problem. Ended up they finished everyone else's orders ahead of us and instead of us getting fresh catfish fillets as advertised the guy brought out 3 bags of frozen catfish one was labeled belly meat(which isn't what we wanted or ordered) & the other 2 was labeled fillets and the bags were full of mostly belly meat. For someone that doesn't know their fish, this wouldn't bother, but for us who know our fish we can tell. Also had to trim almost al the meat once it was thawed. Was highly disappointed! If we didn't live an hour away this would have been taken back..

I ordered a dozen blue crabs this weekend..... every single one was of a good size (and very much alive). Steamed for 25 mins with Zatarain's shrimp & crab boil, topping each layer of crabs with Louisiane crab boil spices. OMGggeeeee. Munson's did it again and this lady is extremely happy with the blue crabs!!! Better get you some while the water is cold for the best eating! I give Munson's 5+++++

We came here to get fresh (but frozen) gulf shrimp, since the frozen shrimp bought at the big box stores comes from farming ponds, and does not have the true flavor a shrimp should. Even the "fresh" stuff at Krogers comes from a farm unless you request gulf shrimp.
Anyways, as I pulled in, several other vehicles were there to buy crawfish...and their doors were non-stop open and close. This was my first time here and was pleasantly surprised to find all sorts of seafood and cajun sides to cook with. I bought a couple of 5 lb boxes of gulf shrimp, and let me tell ya'...it made all the difference in the world when doing tacos!
Let me warn you up front, this is not a place with a fresh painted front and marble floors. Since I come from the swamps of Louisiana, this does not bother me. I am only concerned about the handling of the seafood, which they seem to do well at.
If you find yourself in need of fresh fish/seafood/crawfish at a good price, I'd recommend checking these guys out.
