Chewy steak sliders and service was lacking. Wanted to like this place but maybe we caught it on a bad night?

went to Grotto Wood-Fired Grill and Wine Cave in eureka springs and the food was so good. the sliders were amazing. it does get pretty busy there though, so reservations are a must if you want to get in.

One of our favorite places to eat in Eureka Springs. Food was wonderful and service was on point

Excellent food quality, served on time. Service was at times inattentive. Parking was difficult to find. Value was acceptable except for a $25 glass of champagne. Probably the best food in town!

For a restaurant at this price point, I’d expect a lot more care when it comes to food preparation and dietary restrictions.

I’m vegetarian, and I made sure to tell our waitress before ordering. I ordered the grilled bread, Brussels sprouts, and mac and cheese.
The very first bite of the grilled bread tasted like a hamburger. (Not exactly the seasoning I was hoping for.) I asked if the grill had been cleaned or if the bread had been cooked on the same surface as the meat. She confirmed it had been cooked on the same side as the meat.

I explained again that I’ve been vegetarian for over six years and that eating meat or meat products makes me sick. She didn’t seem particularly concerned, took the bread away, and brought me plain, ungrilled bread with frozen butter. Not exactly an upgrade, but at least I knew it was safe.

Then she informed me that the Brussels sprouts are fried in the same oil as the chicken and quail poppers. Honestly… how does a restaurant not have a fryer or oil that’s free from meat products? At the very least, this should be clearly disclosed on the menu.
I’d strongly recommend adding symbols or notes for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other dietary accommodations so guests can make informed decisions before ordering.
The most frustrating part? I was still charged for the grilled bread that I couldn’t eat because of the restaurant’s mistake.

Instead of enjoying the first evening of my vacation, I spent it back at our cabin with intense stomach cramps and far too many trips to the bathroom.

Mistakes happen, but how a restaurant handles them matters. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling like my dietary restriction wasn’t taken seriously, and because of that, I won’t be returning.

Add more categories so I can give them 5 stars as well. One of the best meals we’ve ever had. Ordered the filet and the portobello and they were both perfect. The white chocolate caramel bread pudding dessert tastes like a grandmother’s love. Can’t say enough good things about this place!

This was an amazing dining experience. How often do you dine in a place that has its own natural spring running through the building? Filet Mignon was stellar - I don't know why they brought me a steak knife because it cut like butter! The salmon was also prepared perfectly. The hibiscus creme brulee was such a treat and definitely in my top 5 desserts ever.

We eat at the bar and had the burrata appetizer, a filet steak and Mac and cheese for a side. All excellent choices. The bartender gave us superior service.
