I came to Mud Street for lunch, though I heard the breakfast is better, which I believe. The lunch menu is small. I got a French dip filled with prime rib. A good sandwich but a bit pricey as it was small and came with only a handful of potato chips. The service was somewhat slow but wasn’t that bad. The highlight of the visit was the coffee. We ate in the Underground Mud Street Cafe. There is an annex if you do not want to walk downstairs. I had the Chef’s Scramble and my husband had the chocolate chip pancake with a side of bacon. We agreed that everything was delicious but the coffee might have stole the show. The coffee is from a local distributor that roasts their beans daily. So smooth. Freshly prepared food that is solid breakfast fare. It wasn't busy when we went, we had friendly staff. They sat us by a window in a floor that showed the original building below. Food was hearty; good-sized portions - not too much. Full page menu with various choices and add-on options. Good spot in town for starting your day off right.
