Today went to Central BBQ on Poplar and did a small purchase this time because I wanted to eat some potato chips, bought 3 packs and each container had a very small amount of potatoes in it, smaller portion of what they served with a meal in the restaurant, I have got them before and never this small serving , they need to improve to on the time that the client have to wait for the chips, before this time at the same restaurant over 20 minutes wait and the restaurant was not busy...read full review
Went the Central BBQ in Southaven Ms. Was told by several people how good it was. Tried to order the brisket sliced moist and was repeatedly told how moist the brisket was. There was zero smoke ring or flavor and looked and tasted like it had been cooked in an oven. Was very disappointed in the food for the price. My wife and I shared a 3 meat plate with sliced brisket, pulled pork that was ok and ribs. Here in Texas we have better BBQ in gas stations.
We were in Memphis last week and I wanted to come to Central. If you don't mind spending alot of money for food then I recommend it. The ribs were good but the brisket was tough, i didn't like that you had to order and then sit down and the food is brought out to you. You have to get your own drinks from the dispenser and then expected to tip. I tasted my grandson's greens which had too much vinegar.
