Central BBQ (Fayetteville)

Today went to Central BBQ on Poplar and did a small purchase this time because I wanted to eat some potato chips, bought 3 packs and each container had a very small amount of potatoes in it, smaller portion of what they served with a meal in the restaurant, I have got them before and never this small serving , they need to improve to on the time that the client have to wait for the chips, before this time at the same restaurant over 20 minutes wait and the restaurant was not busy at all, i will take my business to another place, I was going at least once a week.

Wings are good. Service is even better. Next year I'm going to win that Wing eating competition

Was a let down compared to one in downtown Memphis. Seemed like bbq wasn't fresh. Great atmosphere

I really want this restaurant to succeed because it is in a good location and relatively new. However, until the food justifies the price it is disrespectful to be here near Penguin Eds. Here's why:

Almost all of my food was over cooked or dry.

1. Brisket is the definitive factor of good BBQ, but unfortunately it was the worst thing on my plate. There was no melting. It was mini beef cubes pulling apart. Had to be completely saved with BBQ sauce. 1.5/5

2. Pulled pork was not half bad. The flavor was there. No smokiness, but it was rich. Slightly dry but also not overwhelmingly fatty. If it wasn't too cold it would have been more than proficient. 3.5/5

3. Toast had no butter and was cooked too fast so it was like a quick char, steamed, lousy piece of bread. Working on this would instantly up the game. Roll some butter on before you toast. 1/5

4. Slaw is different strokes for different folks so I will score without bias. It was on the vinegary side, not creamy, and very chunky (no fine or diced veggies). Watery too. If that's your thing, cool. Not for me. I would say across the spectrum of coleslaw types I could give it 2/5

5. Fries were cold but good, crispy and well seasoned 4/5

6. Sausage was the best part. Charred on the inside, snappy and meaty. Y'all better not be buying this stuff from elsewhere bc from what I tasted this was the best meat!

Hope to return to try the ribs that everyone says are good. I like the service and everyone was friendly and accommodating. The recipes and consistency needs to come next!

Loved this restaurant ❤️ great and fast service food was amazing and tender! I would definitely recommend to everyone and would go agin. This so far is my number 1 spot to g!! The ladies at the front were great it was our first time and she suggested great offers.

Bbq is okay. Chopped beef was old and hard. Sliced brisket was better. Won't order a brisket sandwich again.

I’m from Memphis and remember how good the original Central BBQ on Central Ave was. They started franchising locations the last few years and the food quality has gone down hill since then.

I got the 3 meat plate with sausage, brisket, and pulled chicken with Mac and cheese. Food came out fast but it was bland and not hot. The sauces were alright so if the barbeque was covered in sauce it was alright.

I ordered this delivered by Uber eats and even after it took forever and was cold it was some of the best BBQ I've had. Highly recommend.
