I walked in without any greeting and sat myself at the counter. After attempting to catch one of the employees eyes, I had to believe I was invisible. There was only 1 other seated table, and 1 customer picking up a to-go order (who walked out as I sat). Of the 5 employees working on this day, 1 sat down to enjoy her own steak. I often eat at Waffle House when traveling, enjoying small talk with the counter staff. They call out my order to the cook, who repeats it for accuracy. I enjoy this and know my order is being prepared correctly. Today, at this location, the only exchange was silent stares. No hello. No “we’ll be with you in a minute”. No “can I take your order”. Nothing. After waiting several minutes, affording several opportunities for service, I left. When attempting to contact Waffle House to inform them of this poor level of service, I was repeatedly connected to the Workers Comp Dept, who did not know how to direct calls to customer service. The automated recording directed me to Facebook. As a business owner in the service business, I really wanted to speak with another human who may have appreciated some feedback on how to better his/her business. There are several places that make waffles and eggs I will take my business to one of those.
Walked into this location around 2pm, sat at the counter. There was only 1 other table of diners. There were 5 employees… FIVE! After sitting there for about 10 minutes, not a single employee acknowledged us with words, eye contact, or spoke to us. The employees spent those 10 minutes making every effort to NOT acknowledge us, making drinks for themselves… one actually fixed herself a plate of food and sat down next to us. Still not a single greeting, acknowledgment of our presence, nor order taken. It was clear we were not going to receive service, so we left. We travel the country and often eat at Waffle House because of the food and good service. This location could use some customer service training. When passing through Forrest City AR, do not stop here. Spend your money elsewhere.
