“I went to Rolando’s for lunch on a Thursday with my best friend, it wasn’t terribly busy as it was an odd day. Once we were seated our server was very attentive to us. I particularly liked how after I put sweetener in my tea that he took the small pieces of trash away for me! I hate a messy space and usually end up putting these kinds of trash in my pocket but he picked them up, as well as our straw wrappers on another visit. The food was excellent! I order the Cuban sandwich, everything about it was delicious! The ham and pulled pork were tender and juicy, the roll was nice, the sauces were very flavorful and added to the dish! The only thing I will say is that they drizzled some of the sauce in small amounts on top of the sandwich which made my fingers a bit messy but honestly, it was so delicious I didn’t care all that much. The black bean rice wasn’t what I expected but in the best way! Usually “rice and beans” on the side means overcooked, unflavorful rice and soupy beans, but not here! The rice was fresh, and fluffy with whole black beans and green bell pepper mixed in. It was refreshing and added to the mean rather than acting as a sad plate filler. There were lightly pickled cucumbers and red onions that were so bright and cleansing! Absolutely scrumptious! There wasn’t a single thing on my plate I didn’t love. For the first time, in a long long time I thought “wow, this was worth the money and time to go out for!” Not to mention the price was very reasonable.“
