“Got the carne asada burrito and some asada tacos. I didn’t like the tortilla for the tacos but the meat was good. The burrito was great I tweaked it to my liking (no lettuce, no tomato, no sour cream and no cheese) just rice beans cilantro w/onion and the meat. Reasonably priced for the burrito but they do skimp you on the meat. Will come back whenever I’m back in town picking up a load. Another downside they do take awhile to get orders out probably because it’s cooked up at the moment.”

“The name says it all! The name of the shop is a Bible verse and this is more than a coffee shop. They currently serve breakfast and have non perishable food items and clothing available to those in need. Go by and see the wonderful cook And baristas and spend some time with the proprietor and see her vision for this calling God has placed on her life.”

“My wife and I went here a couple times on our honeymoon, and she’s repeatedly said that she wishes we could bring it home with us. The food was great, the prices are really good, and the people are kind. She has a dairy allergy, and they graciously worked with us to accommodate her, something that really means a lot to us. For anyone with similar allergies, the frying batter does have buttermilk, but the french fry frier is separate from the fryer for battered foods. They ended up cooking her food on a skillet, which worked to keep it separate from dairy contaminants on the grill.

“This is my parents bakery. So this post may be a little biased! 100% authentic Mexican bread. Dad got the name from a bakery near his home town in San Miguel De Allende, Guanajuato. Mom and Dad make and bake their bread fresh every single day, except Tuesday, which they use to rest a little. They use fresh ingredients and run the day to day operations as well. They engage within the vast Hispanic community and have served the area for nearly 20 years now. Please keep supporting locally owned Hispanic business and keep De Queen thriving.”

“A quick in and out donut place with a drive thru for the regulars. They had your classics but also some large cinnamon rolls, hand dipped donuts with a variety of toppings, and some cute chocolate covered donut holes. The owner was behind the counter and super friendly.”

“I stopped by like on the 2nd day of the restaurant opening. They were having issues with the speaker, so the person in front of me had to keep repeating his order. Took several minutes. (It's a new establishment things happen) Once I get to the speaker a lady walks out and apologized to me. She explained to me that they were having issues, she asked what I wanted, she was on her phone and called the order in. I got to the window and it took less than a minute to get my food. It was hot and delicious.”

“This Burger King was one of the cleanest fast food places I’ve ever been to while traveling. The staff was extremely nice and the food was very fresh. Would definitely go back again!”

“I read a lot of rough reviews about this place and honestly almost skipped it. After our first choice (a food truck) wasn’t open, we tried Sunrise—and I’m glad we did. If you’re judging this like a big-city, white-tablecloth spot, you’ll be disappointed. If you want small-town, all-you-can-eat Chinese that hits the cravings without driving an hour, this works.

What to know before you go (set your expectations)
• It’s a small-town buffet. Fewer guests means the freshness and heat are average at slower times. Trays were kept stocked and anything low was refilled within minutes while I was there.
• The building’s older. The dining and buffet areas were clean and low-noise, but the bathrooms are clean yet run down (broken soap dispenser when I went).
• Service is low-key. Staff is friendly, not hovering. Drink refills are quick, and they give you space—which I prefer at a buffet.
• Not fast-food Chinese. This isn’t Panda Express. It’s that familiar, more “authentic buffet” style you find across the U.S.—which I like. If you want fast-food consistency, stick with fast food.

I’m a meat + sweet-and-sour person. I had bacon crab wraps, crawfish and traditional egg rolls, lo mein, teriyaki grilled chicken, sesame chicken, pepper chicken, and beef & broccoli.
Standouts: the pepper chicken and the sweet-and-sour on the lemon chicken.

Desserts were a surprise hit: puddings, cakes, fruit, jello, and ice cream—good variety and one of the best parts.

Price & value: $36 for three people after tax (about $12 per person all-in). For the variety and the fact it’s right here in De Queen, that’s a solid value.

Plenty of parking. They also offer takeout if you’d rather eat at home.

If online complaints scared you off, I get it—they almost scared me off too. But my lunch was decent, clean, quiet, and fairly priced with a surprisingly big selection for a small town. I’d eat here again.”
