So glad j found this spot! Mel’s Southern Diner is great. I had a hamburger & fried & fountain Dr. Pepper. The food was delicious & the service great! So nice to eat a non-corporate hamburger! I’ll be back!

Nice little place, and I mean little. I think it can seat around 20 people and I wish they could seat more.
It's a small, tidy mom-n-pop diner with the nicest people I've met in a long time. My server was so attentive and nice. I honestly believe she was glad I came in 😃. I thanked the two other ladies in the kitchen on my way out, and they too were genuinely thankful I stopped by. Super nice people.
The food, chopped steak with homemade mashed potatoes and a side of delicious macaroni and cheese. Just so very good.
The only reason I didn't go 5 stars is that I arrived 10 minutes past the cut-off for breakfast and had to choose from the lunch menu. I was looking forward to breakfast, but wasn't disappointed with lunch.
If you are in the area, do yourself a favor and stop at Mel's Southern Diner. You won't be disappointed.

It is a perfect lunch spot featuring local food and the warm attention of the lady, assumed to be the owner. The onion rings are exceptional 💯!

We came on a Saturday on vacation in Arkansas, had 3 of the Saturday specials, and 2 small kids meals. It was quiet, bright, friendly, and our server, Amber, was great. The tables had all the things we needed and if it didn't, Amber was super intuitive, we literally didn't have to ask for anything. Loved the experience!!!

Biscuits & gravy are superb. The place is tiny, but clean. It used to be a house, so there’s a bathtub in the restroom! The annoying flies spoiled our time, but not the food.

I wanted a burger soooo bad, but I can never turn away chicken fried steak! It was so tender that u could cut it with a fork. I love these little places with great food. Real close to hotsprings, and u know u wanna go there! ??

Terrible service, not worth the aggravation

You don’t come here for the atmosphere, you come here for the home cooked style food. Things aren’t always perfect but then again this isn’t a chain we are talking about here. The meat slicer was down the other day so I had to change my order which gave me the opportunity to try something different and in the end I was as satisfied as I would have been with my original order. Lunch time can get busy, just be patient! I promise it’s worth it. Haven’t tried breakfast but as I am working in this area over the next few weeks, that is on my list.
