This place is out in the country a bit, but the food is delicious, and the service is amazing.

We would drive out of our way, which is kind of what we had to do, to come here again. Stopped in for an early dinner and cannot say enough of how great everything was. The food especially. It is rare for all of our family to finish everything on our plates, but not at this place. Southern hospitality is real, and it starts right here at the Red Oak Fillin Station. Try the brisket grilled cheese. It will knock your socks off.

Just a short drive outside the hubbub of Hot Springs sits Red Oak. And one of the best restaurants around. Walking in we were greeted promptly and found a seat. It smelled delightful. The menu had a great variety and it was hard to choose. I ended up getting the Smothered Chicken Breast with Teice Baked Potatoes and a side salad. My hubs got the All You Csn Eat Shrimp with Baked Pitato Salad and Cole Slaw. The side salad came out quickly and had a nice variety of greens, no iceberg. Yay! And sweet cherry tomatoes. Nice sized portion, too. I almost never order chicken when I eat out, but this was over the top good. The smokiness of the bacon and the creamy sharp white cheddar worked well together. The twice baked potatoes were actually in a dish instead of the usual jacket. Made it easier to eat and just as good. Hubs started with their hand battered shrimp. He enjoyed it. But the grilled shrimp was the star. So full of flavor, seasoned up and cooked just right. Perfect. The baked potato salad and cole slaw were good, too.It was our servers first night, but she was friendly and did a great job. We wouldn't have known except we had a menu question she wasn't sure about and she said it was her first night so she had to ask. She was great.Overall, everything we saw go by looked good. They had mixed drinks available, so we'll definitely take advantage of that next time. The price was more than fair for the quality and portion of food. Can't wait to return.

The waitress was nice. When we ran out of water another girl noticed and came to the rescue. No complaints there. The fried pickles were good as were the cheese curds. There were 6 of us. The chicken tenders I ordered my son were good but that was about. None of my 5 were happy with their food. The brisket was very dry. The smoked sausage was not good at all. I remember ordering that back when it would come out in links and slightly charred, it was so good then. I don’t what they’re doing with it now but that ain’t it. The Mac n cheese was all cold and the brisket in it was dried and in chunks. Reminds me of beef jerky. I feel terriblle because we invited a friend from out of town to come eat with us and I didn’t ask him how he felt about it but he didn’t eat much of his food either. To be honest his plate looked like it had sat under a heat lamp for a few hours. Dry. Even the cheesecake was grainy which is a tell tale of being dry either the way it was cooked or been sitting too long. How embarrassing. I thought it was going to be good. Maybe it was an off night but it’s really inexcusable.

We came to Arkansas for the eclipse and had a lovely meal here. The staff was lovely and the menu had a lot of options. Even our vegetarian friends found something to eat.Vegetarian options: There were fried pickles, fried mushrooms, and some of the sides were vegetarian.

Ok, the problem with this place is that it's not next door to my house! The grilled cheese brisket sandwich is the perfect mix of savory, sweet, and salt. I'm hard to impress, but this was awesome! I'll be back in the area just to eat here! Can I camp out in the parking lot?

Came here since it was on the way home from Hot Springs for the first time, and I have to say the ribs here are bomb! Didn't even need sauce to give it any flavor. The seafood gumbo was a bit salty but, bearable. It was a bit different from what I'm accustomed to. Definitely recommend the barbecue here though minus the sausage. Very tender and breaks without a knife.
