I’ve eaten at all the Mexican restaurants in the village. There is a total of 5. LOL! (We need more of a variety). However, this one is the champion out of the 5 ???

Great food. Service was a little slow. The waitress was also bartending, and that slowed her down, for sure. The atmosphere was okay except for the extremely bright lights. Way too bright for a relaxing experience. Great food, though.

Let me start by explaining the 2 stars for food. The presentation is great, portion was big, the meat had absolutely no flavor or seasoning. I gave it 2 stars because, aside from our meat entrees, the rice and beans are amazing. Our server was amazing, very attentive, and nice. This would have gotten 4-5 stars, but the meat was worth the deduction. Im a firm believer in a fair review, and i am always honest. Everything else was great.

My husband and I recently dined here while visiting HSV and we were very happy with our experience. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was festive and our waitress was sweet. My shrimp soup was scrumptious - so flavorful with lots of shrimp and veggies. We will definitely be back!

I recently moved to the area from Austin, Texas. El Jimador has a great location and serves quality food. Very much needed for my chips and salsa binge. The Big Papa Loca is my current preference.

Great Food, Great Service!

We are back in HSV visiting and just had our 2nd delicious meal here. We were here 4 months ago and had a great experience, so I knew I wanted to come back. Sophia was our waitress and she was great!

I had the Ranchero Jalisco (beef, shrimp and chicken over a bed of rice/peppers, covered in a delicious cheese topping. My wife had some cheese enchiladas with 2 types of salsa toppings along with a crispy taco and side of rice.

Not only was Sophia great, but our host came and checked on us a few times also, ensuring we had everything we needed!

My wife and I came into town for vacation , staying in hot springs village. Coming from San Antonio the food wasn't anything crazy to us , but we could see living here where there isn't a massive Hispanic influence that this restaurant was more than accommodating and sufficient.

The service was super friendly. We had gotten sat and taken care of immediately. There was very little wait time , when it came from ordering to receiving our food. The flavors of everything were pretty good and savory for both of our dishes. Coming in starving from a day on the water, the food hit the spot. Surprisingly our favorite was the sides of rice and beans.

The only part of our experience we didn't enjoy was that we both had meat dishes and both of our dishes were a little more on the tough/chewy side.

Overall 8.4/10 experience. Nothing out of this world but also more than sufficient for the craving.
