Food and cocktails were very good. However, they clearly forgot to put in our food and then when we brought it up asked us for our orders again and pretended that they hadn't messed up and never apologized or comped anything. Also, my meal contained popcorn that had a kernel in every bite and made it difficult to eat. Also gave a password and never asked for it and was charged an extra service fee. For the prices they charge the service was unacceptable.

Form over function. This speakeasy wannabe puts a little too much energy in the game of getting a reservation/entry and a little too little energy in execution. We arrived to a very crowded entrance at our reservation time. It was very confusing as to how you get in and there was no code given prior as described in the reservation confirmation. Once seated we placed our orders and then began the wait. Over 2 hours later, six of our seven meals were delivered to the table. It was 5 to 10 minutes until the 7th person's meal was delivered. He didn't want to make everybody wait while their food got cold but nobody wanted to eat when his food was nowhere in sight. How do you bring six people's food and leave one person sitting there with nothing to eat? This is after asking several times where our food was and watching others seated at tables around us eating their food. One table next to us, however, tried to pay her check for at least 20 minutes before getting irritated and going up to the bar and paying there. Our waiter repeatedly told us that our food was just about ready. Once our food was finally delivered, he said that he had spoken with the manager and that we could pick two desserts from the menu that they would give us for free. First of all, we are a party of seven. Two desserts is an inadequate offer. Second of all, we have already waited over 2 hours after ordering our food. So what makes you think we even have the time or desire to wait for dessert. We asked for our checks as soon as the dessert was offered and the checks took longer than bringing the desserts. Once it arrived, the food was actually good and something I would return for. However, the silly game of calling it a speakeasy when it is nothing of the sort makes no sense. They ask you to let them know when you are finished so they can escort you to the door. There's no secret about where the door is and there's nothing clever about walking you to it. That was just more unnecessary silliness. Maybe they could take the energy that they use for the silliness and improve the service a little bit. Or maybe even a lot.

It is also not a cheap place to eat. When I'm paying upwards of $50 a person I expect service to match.

Pork belly tidbit was insane. The pork melted in our mouth. Everything is delicious! Only “complaint” was the tajin on my Mediterranean dish, wasn’t a favor profile I expected but I still cleaned my plate! 10/10, one of my favorite restaurants in hot springs.

Service is amazing, drinks are delicious & the food is to die for!

Very unique dining experience. Delicious cocktails. The biscuits were very tasty. Super good burger, the bacon was so so good. Those potato wedgies were everything…yum! The lasagna was interesting, but I didn’t think the duck flavor was highlighted as I hoped. The charred crunchy noodles a tad confusing. Overall, we enjoyed the meal and I have no doubt the best dining available in the area.

Disappointing. The atmosphere was not enjoyable. When you think of a speakeasy, one would imagine a dimly lit intimate space with a well stocked bar. The lighting was so bright, it was offensive. Bring sunglasses. The restaurant was filled with smoke from the kitchen. I guess the hood wasn’t working. The bar was woefully stocked. Maybe 10 bottles of liquor, and a few bottles of wine. Not much to choose from. They were unable to make a mojito as they did not have white rum. Again, speakeasy failure. The dining room was also infested by gnats. When we asked the waitress about the gnats, she responded, “yeah that’s disgusting”. That did not inspire confidence. We orders 5 different entrees and drinks. The mixed drinks were quite good however we were informed they were out of Coke. How are you out of Coke?! To our surprise, the food came relatively quickly. Once we cut into the burger, the timely service was explained. The meat was raw and inedible. After the food was delivered our waitress never came back to check on us until flagged down. So much for the 2 bite, 2 minute rule! The New York Strip we ordered showed up as a $75 “14 oz” ribeye. The pork belly was actually pretty good and well cooked. The popcorn was a bit odd, however. Watch out for un-popped kernels! When the plates were cleared, by a different waitress, we expressed our disappointment. She responded, “you can’t win ‘em all”. The lack of concern with customer satisfaction at Don’s is alarming especially considering the price point. Both waitress ended up apologizing for the meal and passed on the same sentiment from owner/head chef who, never once, bothered to come out and talk to us.

Don’s is overpriced, unsophisticated, and suffers from a lack of training for the waitstaff and lack of accountability by the owner. The “speakeasy” theme is gimmicky and poorly executed. Maybe the focus should be placed on the food and service. We will not be back.

i made reservations on april 15 through facebook and was told i would get a message around 4 for our reservations. 4:30 rolls around mo message i called and was able to speak with someone. they did not have our reservation and they can only “fit us” at the bar. it’s our anniversary we didn’t know where else to go, so i was like ok that is ok . we got to the restaurant at our designated time. they sat us at the edge of the bar like they added two seat and the edge was sticking into me . we ordered our food and my husbands food comes out and mine has not come out. i waited for about 15 min then the waitress realizes that i don’t have my food . then i waited about another 10 min to finally get it . i ordered my steak medium rare when i get it’s rare . i will say the food was good but the experience did not make up for it . i would not recommend

My husband truly surprised me with this gem. I was thoroughly impressed with the design. The hostess was extremely kind, and helpful. The staff worked together well and truly looked like they enjoy their job. The food was top notch and extremely impressive. The bar tender was quite talented. Over all this was a memorable 5 star experience.

My wife and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary at this fantastic establishment! The service was outstanding and our waitress was very nice and helpful with the menu. She did an amazing job! We loved the decor and overall atmosphere. I really enjoyed sitting in front of the open kitchen. Watching the chefs work and their attention to detail was like a show in itself. The food itself was Amazing! I highly recommend the biscuits, pork belly, burger, and the campfire pie! Thank you again for an amazing dinner out for our anniversary! We will be back!

This place has absolutely the best food I’ve ever eaten. Hands down. I’ve tried 6 different dishes, all slightly out of my comfort zone and totally nothing I’d ever even heard of. But it was all phenomenal! Well worth every penny! Looking forward to going again!!
