While you're eating you get a flashback of yesteryear with all the antiques splattered neatly on the walls - definitely a conversation piece that brings a smile to your face. “We got married in Flippin, AR and worked with Mershon Cakes to do our catering. Mershon Cakes was phenomenal!! I would hire them again in a heart beat. From our initial contact with Mikal at Mershon Cakes to our wedding day everything was excellent. The team was commutative, professional and made us feel like we were family. Mikal worked with us to make the perfect catering menus. We used them for two different meals. We also gave them free creative reigns to make our wedding cake and we are so glad we did bc it was PERFECT!! We cannot thank Mershon Cakes for their hospitality and above and beyond services!!”

“IMHO this is right at the top of the list. The best Chili Relleno I have eaten since moving to Missouri from Arizona. The service is great and the prices are reasonable. I'm just sorry I can only eat there about once a month. My only complaint is the beans which are a bit runny. But that is only my opinion. The rice is some of the best I have eaten, while the food has the right amount of heat for me, not too spicy with good flavor.”

“Just had a great dinner! Had the half pound burger with bacon. I ordered the burger medium-rare and the cook was perfect. The bacon was crispy as well. The beer on tap was great and a very good price! It was a very good meal and well worth the drive from Mountain Home!”

“Love the breakfast menu with potatoes but the rice is not authentic Mexican, Tastes like it’s packaged and so are the tortillas. These are not freshly made. The staff are friendly and food arrives in a timely manner. Great for a trip through town not having time to prepare. Also salsa is served cold with the chips or food.”

“Our fly fishing guides recommended this restaurant to us and we tried it on our last night of our trip. When we went in, the dining room had a lot of empty tables and we still had to wait for about 15 mins for seating. Maybe they were short staffed, or trying to consolidate occupied tables for the the staff on board. \n\nThe 178 had an extensive menu. Burgers, steaks, fish. The special for Wednesdays was fried chicken with sides (which was the recommendation from our guides). I will say that the fried chicken was probably the best fried chicken I've ever had. I do not like white meat, but even the white meat with extremely moist.\n\nThe only thing that I'd caution patrons on is that all the salad options have meat or fish of some type. So read the salad ingredients carefully. We just wanted a spinach salad to split before our chicken dishes and it came out with 3 large chicken fingers laid out across the top. It was our bad for not carefully reading the salad description on the menu. It was confusing us when it came out, but it was not a big deal as we just took the chicken off and boxed it for home. The spinach salad underneath was great!\n\nWe all walked out stuffed and with boxes of chicken to take out to reheat for the next day! If you can go in on Wednesday, try the chicken!”

“Bull Shoals lil secret...some great Mexican food..that's pretty reasonable their fajita California is some of the finest i have ever tasted...carnitas Burritos and Hulk burritos will keep you fed for a couple of days and will make your tummy really happy...”

“I stop in here about once a week and it seems like Ashley is always there and happy to help. She is quiet but professional and fast. If she isn't the manager she probably should be.

This location does suffer from broken equipment a lot. A couple years ago they went months without a toaster and now its been weeks without a soda machine. The temp in the dining room always seems to be way too hot.”

“I went through the drive-thru today at 1:00 and got amazingly unexpected service!! I’m just in town visiting so this was a very pleasant surprise. The gentleman that took my order had the best customer service and on top of that saved me a few dollars! Not sure if he is a manager or not but he definitely should be. Thank you sir!”
