Mr. Chen's is one of the few local Chinese restaurants offering anything approaching "real" Chinese food. The sautéed sweet pea leaves, pictured below, are one of my favorites, and just not available at the many Americanized Chinese restaurants in our area. Yesterday, we also ordered chicken lo mein and shredded beef bean curd with cilantro, both of which were very tasty and are photographed below. Very authentic feel and my bean curd with pork and bamboo shoots was amazing! We had hot tea with our meal and want to try the hot pot next time. The entrance to this restaurant really takes away from the atmosphere, but the food was unbeatable.

We've eaten here several times and it's always been good. We had the hotpot this latest visit and while the idea and experience was great, I personally was not a fan of the broths we got. To me there was an odd aftertaste. Everyone else liked them though and would recommend trying it. I recommend it too! Next time I'm just going to order of the normal menu which is absolutely fantastic! The basil chicken is a go to for us.
