Don't let the supermarket store front fool you. This place is inside, but a side roo. fully decked out Chinese restaurant with a good atmosphere inside. Food has all been very good, no house hot mustard though. That's my only complaint.

I love Mr. Chen's! The best, most authentic Chinese cooking I've ever had. They have all kinds of Chinese foods, and the servers will help you decide if you are looking between 2-3 choices.

If Mr. Chen's restaurant and/or store ever closes, Little Rock will have lost one of it's most valuable gems

I'm only grading them off of the atmosphere...it smells like dead animals when I walked in. It really really stinks. I'm sure the food is amazing but imagine eating inside of a meat processing warehouse. Sorry guys but the smell isn't working. Please make it smell better like for real man. Im only picking up an order and I want to cancel my order.

This was a pleasent surprise. Hidden away inside the Asian market a full restaurant. The decor was thoughtful. Plenty of well trained staff. The food was good too! Worth the trip if you like Chinese food!

Mr. Chen's is one of the few local Chinese restaurants offering anything approaching "real" Chinese food. The sautéed sweet pea leaves, pictured below, are one of my favorites, and just not available at the many Americanized Chinese restaurants in our area. Yesterday, we also ordered chicken lo mein and shredded beef bean curd with cilantro, both of which were very tasty and are photographed below. Someone who hasn't been to Mr. Chen's previously may find the approach to the restaurant through a grocery store redolent with smells a bit off-putting, but what waits inside the restaurant will be worth the trip through the store entrance. Wait staff can sometimes be a bit less than engaging, though usually solicitous. None of that may matter when the food, which is always delicious, arrives on your table, however.

Very authentic feel and my bean curd with pork and bamboo shoots was amazing! We had hot tea with our meal and want to try the hot pot next time. The entrance to this restaurant really takes away from the atmosphere, but the food was unbeatable.

We've eaten here several times and it's always been good. We had the hotpot this latest visit and while the idea and experience was great, I personally was not a fan of the broths we got. To me there was an odd aftertaste. Everyone else liked them though and would recommend trying it. I recommend it too! Next time I'm just going to order of the normal menu which is absolutely fantastic! The basil chicken is a go to for us.

This is my go to Chinese restaurant!! It is always clean and the food has never disappointed. My favorite dishes are their egg drop soup, rice noodles, and sesame shrimp. Of course, you can’t go wrong with any of their chicken dishes either!

This definitely was not our cup of tea. Me and my boyfriend order 1 chicken fried rice EACH. He got the orange chicken. I also had got 2 egg rolls, all to go. paid $50 and couldnt eat any of it. The chicken in the rice was deep fried? I didnt even eat the chicken because of how off the smell was. The rice was dry and unseasoned. The orange chicken had this smell neither one of us could get past. Huge pieces of meat, with actual orange peels? My boyfriend did taste it and immediately spit it back out. The egg rolls were decent but still couldnt finish those either.
