To be fair, I'm no expert on Indian cuisine, but I know a great meal when I have one—and this was one of the best meals I can remember. (Don't tell my wife.)
Everything we ordered was absolutely outstanding. Every bite was packed with flavor, and it's easy to see why people rave about this place. But what impressed me just as much was the service. The staff was incredibly welcoming, attentive without ever hovering, and genuinely seemed to care that we had a great experience.
We visited on a Thursday evening, and I was surprised it wasn't packed. It should be. Star of India is truly a star and feels like one of Little Rock's best-kept secrets. It deserves to be discovered by anyone who appreciates outstanding food and first-class hospitality.
We'll definitely be back.

Great Indian lunch buffet! The owner offers you a welcome as you enter. Love that you get to try so many wonderful Indian dishes; the curry, masala, and naan are all so tasty! Tandoori chicken was so tender and moist. Vegetarian options are always available as well.
Best indian food and service in Arkansas. Feels like you are coming home to a nice family meal. The owner greats every one the drinks are great the desert is light. I've never had a complaint about any part of my experience here. ❤
The waiters were extremely welcoming and kind, the food was amazing. The food came pretty fast considering the dish I ordered. And a nice bonus, they gave us free ice-cream before we left. Definitely coming back.

Samir and the servers are all wonderful. We've had meals here and also gotten food for catering. Always, host and servers welcome us with 'welcome back!', decent food on lunch buffet or during dinner service.
Placed smelled so good when you walk in! Employees are super friendly and don’t mind talking for a bit! I got lamb meethi curry which was so flavorful and bullet naan which had a the perfect amount of heat. They have mixed rice with peas and offered free refill when we got low!

Great food and absolutely great hospitality. They made sure to feel like you are eating at your relative or neighbors. We ordered chicken biriyani and fish vindaloo. Both were really good.
We also got a dessert on the house. We would like to visit again!!
My family's favorite after-church restaurant. Love Sammy and the whole crew!

If there were more than 5 stars, I would have even given that! This review comes from a chef to chef. I was always taught that when you serve food with love, the food taste wonders..and this is what I encountered with Chef Sami. Very rarely do I get a family welcome at Indian restaurants, but this just changed my experience. A family vibe, something that made me feel home ...yes home. It's a lot to express by just mere words but if you want to experience true AND WARM indian hospitality in whole of USA then this restaurant is a MUST VISIT. No wonder their reviews speaks for them! If am in Little Rock, this is only place I eat, even though there are several other others but this absolutely stands out! Thanks Uncle Sami for for making it feel just home! ๐โค๏ธโค๏ธ

๐ Five Stars for Star of India!
I had an amazing first visit to Star of India in Little Rock. The owner and chef, Sami Lal, is a wonderful host. He is very friendly and truly cares about his guests.
Great Vegan Food
* Smart help: Sami gave me excellent vegan suggestions.
* Free tastes: He let me sample his special vegan dishes.
* Big invite: He invited me to the monthly vegan luncheon.
Why I Will Return
Sami made me feel so welcome in his restaurant. It is no wonder this spot has been open since 1993! I cannot wait to go back to Shackleford Road very soon for more delicious food.
