The wife and I usually go on a Friday when they have fried okra! And if she's out of wine we kill two birds with one stone and go to the liquor store just up the road! We usually each get the Jumbo special with 2 sides and a drink. And it's plenty of food for both of us. I would put the Smoke Shack up against just about any Q place in Memphis and beyond. It's that good!! Try it for yourself, you'll see!
I will say I miss being able to have lunch here often. Happen to be in the area and got to grab lunch. Had the chopped beef dinner with baked beans and tomato relish. It was as delicious as i remembered. The sweet and spicy sauce just pushes the flavor of the beef over the top. If you can have bread, make sure to get the jumbo sandwich meal. They toast and butter the bread. It is heavenly. So whenever you are near the Maumelle Morgan exit, take the time to stop by. You won't be disappointed.
Usually the food is good…but the rib dinner was horrible!! 4ribs and a tiny burnt end rib, all of it was cold and tasted like left overs….and I have to say for $15.00 what a sad and disappointing meal. I’ve usually been very satisfied with the smoke shack…but I won’t be returning due to the fact that food shouldn’t have been given ( 4 small ribs and burnt end piece) and when I called to tell them about the food she could of cared less….very poor business.
