15min drive from home always a peaceful atmosphere and wonderful food. The drive up is absolutely beautiful! I recommend giving it a try!

The food was inedible. Soggy and greasy. Horribly greasy catfish and limp, soggy fries. Very bad. You're a captive of the location, the mountain and distance to any other place to eat, and they take great advantage of that. It's a great atmosphere, very beautiful, but it is TOTALLY wasted as a restaurant.

We planned a little day getaway so we called the day before to make sure the restaurant was open. We were told they had a soup and salad bar. When we arrived there was no soup and salad bar and the waitress said they don't set it up when they are slow. (That would have been nice to know when we called) When we arrived, there was one couple finishing their meal. We ordered 2 appetizers and it was 20 minutes before they came out with the mushrooms and told us the blooming onion was burnt and they would have to make another one. 15 minutes later it came out and the onion was raw. We are still the only ones in the restaurant at this point. It was another 15 or 20 minutes before our meal came out. The green beans were rubbery and the rest of the meal was mediocre. For the price of a lunch for 4 (100.00) I would have expected a little better food and service. Will not be returning.

This place is beautiful!! You cannot beat these views. Service was also outstanding. Everyone was so welcoming. Our waitress, Susie, was very attentive, sweet & did a great job. Food at breakfast time was so-so...we had the buffet & it was good, just nothing to write home about. At lunch, we also had the buffet & it was delicious!! They had fish, chicken fried steak, grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, all different veggies & some amazing deserts. Would definitely recommend it here.

We always enjoy dining at the Skycrest, which we did on 2/15/24. As always, the views off the bluffs were spectacular! Being a weekday in the middle of the winter, we had the place almost to ourselves, which allowed our server to almost give us her undivided attention. I had a really good grilled chicken sandwich, which came with the normal selection of on-board vegetables, with a side of sweet potato fries. My wife and friend dining with us split a chicken fried steak, green beans and mashed potatoes with gravy,along with a salad from the salad bar and a cup of soup. They both sent their plates back to the kitchen because their food was cold. A couple of minutes later, it was returned piping hot. They both were satisfied after it was heated. We split a half dozen chocolate and white chocolate covered strawberries, which were delicious.Except for the hiccup with the cold food, we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and will be back in the not-so-distant future.
Even though it is a slow time of the year, the service, food and atmosphere was great.Parking: Also handicapped parking
