The Skycrest Restaurant Reviews
This has been the best food we've had in the Ozarks and Ouachitas combined.
This is a 2 part review:
1st visit: We had a fantastic experience here. Definitely will come back, with the time and money spent. Large portions. We had the grilled chicken and one plate would definitely be enough for 2 people (hindsight, as we both got our own with plenty of leftovers). I had the lemonade and it was so good as well as the salad bar. Husband had a blue moon. Chocolate lava cake with ice cream for dessert was so rich but so good!

The Skycrest Restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with a stunning view of the river and the area below, situated on the highest point in Arkansas, Mount Magazine. The restaurant is nestled inside a lodge, enhancing its charm. The menu features highly recommended dishes such as the grilled chicken sandwich, chicken fried steak, hamburger, and pancakes. Breakfast portions are noted to be large and delicious, making it a great value. The service is exceptional, with staff described as friendly, personable, and efficient, although there may be occasional delays during busy times.
The restaurant's setting is a highlight, with large windows providing panoramic views of the surrounding scenery and wildlife. The cozy atmosphere, especially during winter with a roaring fireplace, adds to the ambiance. While fog may occasionally obstruct the view, the restaurant remains a great spot for any meal. The clean dining area matches the lodge theme well and has great views.
The mixed drinks, especially the Rosy Maple, are also worth trying. The restaurant's buffet, which includes options like mashed potatoes, beef veggie stew, rolls, sautéed vegetables, and pulled pork, is praised for its variety and quality, making it a family-friendly choice. Prices are considered reasonable, particularly for a remote state park, and many guests express a desire to return.
